Can this be wrapped or tied around a large tree for increased strength and stability?

Answer by ChiffonAug 07, 2025
My small terrior broke it and she probably only about 30 pounds if that much, highly disappointed. We had it tied to a pole so I would say no.

Usable tie-out lead

Sturdy enough for a very strong lab Would have been better if it had a pulley style wheel to run along the cable strung between the trees

This lead is great for tying my Rottweiler to the picnic table when we are just sitting outside. That way the other end is attached to him and I don’t have to worry about him running off. He’s 130lbs and he has run full speed in the opposite direction to chase something and the picnic table (which is very heavy) moved but this lead is still in great shape. After about a year of being in the sun every day, the plastic coating starts to crack but it doesn’t diminish the integrity of the lead.

Ordered a different tie out from somewhere else, but not the correct length. And then saw that the metal clips were a lot smaller than my old tie out had on it. Found this one at Chewy, which was comparable to the old one. It’s perfect.

I’m often in my pottery studio with my two doodles. It opens to the street and I want to insure their safety. That’s when I use these cables. They can roam in and out of the studio and even greet visitors while I’m giving my attention to the pottery. They would and have chewed through leads made from webbing an it doesn’t take long either!
