When we brought home our 10-week-old mutt, I thought I had everything covered. The disposable pee pads didn't last long. They're expensive, slide around, and make the place look like a clinic. My girlfriend found The Avalon Society pads, and I was skeptical. A washable pad that looks like a rug sounded like another gimmick. But after using them for a few months, they've exceeded expectations. They look good. Not like something meant for a dog. We keep one by the back door and another near the crate, and they blend in with our space. They've got some weight to them, stay put, and our pup seems to prefer them over the disposables. Performance wise, they hold up. No leaks, no damage to the floors. They've been through at least 15 wash cycles and still look solid. The absorbency hasn't dropped off. One unexpected bonus, the one near the door handles muddy paws just as well as accidents. Basically a doormat and pee pad in one. If you're looking for something that works and doesn't make your place look like a kennel, these are worth it. I wish we'd found them sooner.
