I am transporting two adult cats 14 (lbs) from NY to OK. It’s a 23 hour ride I am doing in one shot. Is the 42 or 45” big enough for them. I have an SUV.

Answer by PomMomDec 14, 2023
You’d be better off using the 52”. I raised a mom with her 3 kittens, a litterbox, bed and scratching pad inside the 52” with no problems.

I have other playpens. Some have the bottom with the (colored) fabric side facing up; the water resistant coated side (usually gray) facing down Others it the reverse. Pctures on chewy vs in instructions do not agree. Which way does the shiny, coated side face, and which way is the bottom panel?

Answer by ChewyApr 14, 2018
To zip the bottom onto the Playpen, the actual zipper parts should be on the outside of the pen, so the pet inside is not able to get to it easily.

How do I secure pet playpen outdoors?

Answer by ChewyFeb 20, 2018
This Playpen includes free ground stakes to secure the pen to the ground while outdoors.

Is this product machine washable?

Answer by ChewyJun 26, 2018
This playpen features a removable zip-off and washable floor mat—perfect for keeping things neat and tidy.

This is a perfect size - one of her dog beds (medium size) fits perfectly, edge to edge in the playpen. The zip top makes it easy for me to reach in to deal with bedding, pet her to get her moving in the morning, whatever I need to do. After her older sister passed, she first wanted everything the same - but after a few months, Molly not being there made her unhappy. This let her have a new (different) “crate” in the same place. She walks right into it & curls up to sleep. We both love it! This might not work in place of a crate for a young or more active dog, or for training, but for my crate-trained senior beagle it is the perfect solution.

Size is as described and is successful in keeping my foster kitten inside and adult pets outside. The only problem is that if any of the wires that shape the playpen is bent out of shape, it is very easy to collapse teh entire thing inward, and it is very difficult to. bend it back into shape. The wire maintaining the shape should be more sturdy with this cost, I'm concerned the wire will break with such repeat bending.

I've been very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this playpen. It seems like so many affordable products have really terrible quality, so it's been awesome to have this one in great condition after 3 months of daily use. My kittens frequently climbed the mesh walls and played on the mesh top, and it hasn't ripped at all. I bought the 42x42x24 and it's been plenty of room for my various fosters: 2 kittens (till 12 weeks), 1 mom & kitten. The zippers work really well, it's very easy to clean, and it folds/unfolds nicely when I need to move or store it. There's a lot of little details that make it feel like it was really intentionally designed, which I appreciate so much. My only complaint is that kitty litter can get caught in the zipper groove for the bottom piece. If that gets wet, it gets a little tricky to clean out. But overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

I purchased the playpen for my puppy so she could have more room to play while she and my other dogs got to get to know each other. The playpen worked great until she figured out that she could pull it in on itself and then the side would fold out allowing her to escape.

Fairly easy to set up, easy to move to shade or sun if needed. We do not use the zippered bottom or top; we would use them if they didn't have to be removed when you want to re-fold the pen, which we do often for road trips. The light weight is great for us, but we had to put rocks in the pockets to keep it from blowing away. Big ding for being incredibly awkward to re-fold. We watched a Youtube video (the company does not provide directions for this in the box) but still had difficulty and ended up with just storing it in the camper as best we could while on the road.

sturdy and light. very easy to travel with and both girls love it!

Unpack and use . we chose to put our blanket in it and kept both doors open. When the new puppy needed a nap, a square old table cloth did the job over the top.

My dog was able to chew through the mesh window and escape her third time inside the playpen. It lasted us 2 days. I tossed it as it was pretty much unusable after she tore through it and Chewy wasn't able to refund me or offer a store credit because I couldn't return it. I was pretty bummed as their customer service is usually very helpful about refunding in these circumstances regardless of receiving the product back or not.
