This food is formulated for Adult dogs only. A puppy is generally considered an adult when they stop growing taller. Typically for small breeds this is between 9-12 months, medium breeds around 12 months and large breeds closer to 15 months.

How it makes my dogs feel

Pooped a lot

14 years with Avoderm thanks to Chewy!

Avoderm isn’t easy to find but I wouldn’t feed our four legged family members anything else. It’s not very appealing to them but healthy food isn’t always tasty

Avoderm isn’t easy to find but I wouldn’t feed our four legged family members anything else. It’s not very appealing to them but healthy food isn’t always tasty but it’s filling with far less outdoor mess to clean up & their skin & coat a flawless & silky soft. If the price of groceries keeps going up I may switch myself over to Avoderm as well because I’ve raised many different breeds on this amazing food plus I supplement with veggies. I don’t like taking the time to write a review but if I were new to raising purebred or mix breeds from toy to Great Dane with or without skin or allergy issues you WILL see results after the first bag. I cannot yell loud enough how amazing this food is & every vet we’ve had asks what in the world we’re doing that’s keeping them so healthy - it’s GRAIN FREE AVODERM & it helps that you can switch tag flavors or mix them together like I do for my critters ages 4 months- 13 years and they all eat from the same dish Ibnever have to worry they’ll overeat because it’s satisfying because it’s grain free & hearty. My choices are grain free sensitive support & this one for a he glucosamine that keeps the 13 year old Chihuahua running around like a puppy. This would be a good combo for Great Danes or any extra large or extra small ones a well. BTW why do we care if they turn their noses up to it at first because it’s like trying to compare broccoli to captain crunch - grain free vs grain & I’ve never seen a coyote hunting grain in a field nope, they’re looking for the protein underneath the grain. I hope this helps someone.

Joint relief

My cheweenie is 10 years old and after I started him on this formula by Avoderm I saw a complete change in my “old man” we had started to call him. Not anymore!!

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel loves this stuff!

My five year old female, Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel just started on this food from Chewy.com about two weeks ago now and she loved it at first bite!

My five year old female, Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel just started on this food from Chewy.com about two weeks ago now and she loved it at first bite! I have been apprehensive about giving her food with chicken as the primary protein source since I have read some studies and articles about the negative effects on some dog's health with this overused protein source. However, I feel good about purchasing this food. The ingredients lists seem to be high quality enough for my current standards and I like that it benefits her joints. The price is a little high for me, but I will be purchasing this until I find something better. Four stars is because the bag does not have a way to re-seal it after opening! Be prepared once you open this large bag of food, you will need to either empty it into an airtight container and toss the bag altogether or do what I did and only cut the corner of the bag and reseal it after each feeding by rolling down the corner and fastening a "chip clip" to it. Attention AvoDerm: Please add a ziplock re-sealing function to this luxury dog food bag! Not the most thoughtful packaging.
