Good Weight control ingredients
Avoderm adult, chicken/rice is one the newer foods I have added to my dogs rotation of foods. I wanted to add a lower fat/weight control food and thought this would be good since she already does so well on the regular. The kibble size is a bit smaller than their adult food, however, my dog likes the food and it seems to agree with her coat and she has decent BMs.
My dog loves this!
Avoderm really improves the overall health and does wonders for his skin and coat. Our rescue has gained a bit of weight since he now has his forever home so I switched from the lamb recipe to the weight support recipe and it has really helped improve his overall well being.
Great food
I have been feeding this to my dogs for years now. We have always fed Avoderm. It started with a rescue with bad skin conditions and tummy issues. Avoderm brought everything under control. Now we feed the weight control and their weight is stable and healthy. If your dog has GAINED weight, then you need to cut back the amount. What is listed are only guidelines as each dog will be different. Talk to your vet! I had that discussion with mine and she told me the amount to feed which is NOT what is on the package.

The smell of the food is terrible and my dog wouldn’t eat it.

horrible product, waste of money
I bought this hoping it would help my dog “keep slim & healthy” like the item description says and I have been giving my dog the appropriate amount, following what it says in the back of the bag and my poor dog has done nothing but gain A LOT of weight. I bought this to help her be healthy not to get her fat. I’m very upset about this. Hopefully this wont cause my dog any health conditions.

This is the best weight management food for dogs I've found. My dog loves it and she's not fat anymore.

The first bags the dogs ate no problem. .then they started licking their tails to the point of bleeding...then stopped eating this food...never had this happened before..took them to the vet...was told to stop feeding them this food...it was drying out their skin...threw away the rest..maybe a bad batch ?
Our slightly chubby dog did not want to touch it
Not working for our slightly overweight dog. She rather starve herself than eat any of this food. I bought a few bags with high hope, but unfortunately it didn't work out. Back to the drawing board. Oh well, we will give the unopened bags to a local shelter.
Great deal for very healthy dog food!
I have been feeding my older pups this food for a couple years, and it works very well for maintaining their weight, while keeping them energetic! The area I live has, unfortunately, stopped stocking the Weight Control Avoderm, so I turned to Chewy. Could not be happier - they had it to me in 1 day! Also, signed up for the auto-ship feature, which is awesome! Excellent price, less than the pet stores were!!
