AvoDerm Original Chicken Meal & Brown Rice Recipe Adult Dry Dog Food, 30-lb bag

Puppies: Start allowing puppies access to AvoDerm® Chicken Meal & Brown Rice Formula dog food about 3 weeks before weaning, the food can be moistened to help consumption. After weaning feed the puppy 3 - 4 times per day for the first 2 months, and then from 2 - 3 times per day until reaching Adult size, and then 1 - 2 times per day. Expect to feed 1 1/2 - 2 times the Adult feeding recommendation during the puppy's growing phase. Adjust the daily amount fed so the puppy maintains a good body condition.

Pregnant Females: During pregnancy increase the feeding amount during the last 1/3 of pregnancy to 1 1/2 times the amount recommended as shown for the Adult. Avoid excessive overfeeding, maintaining a good body condition, while preparing for whelp and nursing.

Lactating Females: A nursing female can expect to need 2 - 3 times as much food as recommended in the Adult feeding guideline. Adjust the extra food given by the number of puppies and length of nursing. Try to maintain a good body condition, however, with large numbers of puppies, expect to have some loss in body fat for milk production.

Day 3 & 4: Feed 50% new food and 50% of your pet’s old brand. 

Day 5: Feed 80% new food and 20% of the old brand. 

Day 6: Feed 100% new food from now on.
