I thought avocados were toxic to dogs?

Persin is located in highest concentrations in the leaves and is likely in the skin in lower concentrations. Dog foods that utilize avocados for their nutritional value use avocado meal, which is the green fruit between the pit and skin, and avocado oil. Neither of these parts used in dog foods are toxic.

Where is this sourced and made?

Avoderm dog food is made in the USA. All of the main ingredients in Avoderm recipes purchased from North American suppliers with the exception of duck from France, tapioca powder from Thailand, lamb from New Zealand and quinoa from Peru. They purchase all of their vitamin mix from reputable domestic suppliers who source vitamins globally and then test them domestically before selling them.

Does this come in a formula for small breeds? If not how large are the kibbles?

This food has kibble that is a little larger than the size of a chickpea. This recipe is not available in a small breed formula.

Approximately how many cups of kibble are in the 26 pound bag?

There are approximately 4 cups in each pound of kibble. the 4.4 pound bag will yield approximately 17.6 cups and the 26 pound bag will yield approximately 104 cups.

Great food for seniors and allergies

Avoderm is the only food we've fed our dogs now for >10 yrs. We switched to this food when my Moms digchad severe skin issues and she had spent over 2,000 dollars

Avoderm is the only food we've fed our dogs now for >10 yrs. We switched to this food when my Moms digchad severe skin issues and she had spent over 2,000 dollars over a couplebof years trying to resolve Rosie's skin issues. She had bald scales patches and was constantly chewing and scratching. Within 1 month her hair was growing back, no more chewing herself raw and by the end of 2nd month her hair was soft and glossy and her hip problems had disappeared. Sadly she passed 3vyrs ago but we use it for our other 2 dogs. D-o-g is nearly 18 now gets around as good as a much younger dog, his coat is glossy, and no joint issues even though he had torn his ACL last Jan. Because of his age, surgery wasn't an option for him followed our vets recommendations, and cont to feed him the senior food along with an additional supplement to reduce inflammation and support his tendons. Took him back for recheck and vet attributed his recovery and to him receiving a superior food. D=o-g easily keeps up with our much younger jack Russell terrier in spite of his age!

We’ve fed our dogs Avoderm exclusively for the last 25 years. Our current dog is now 9 years old and we felt it was time to switch to a senior food but our local stores only carry the Avoderm Grain free option which is not recommended by our vet so I decided to check online and was pleasantly surprised to find that Chewy offered a senior option that was not grain free. Our dog loves it.

Good for one dog

I have 2 senior dogs. A 9 year old boxer pit mix and a 14 year old husky. The 14 year old has several ailments and decreased appetite is one of them. Unfortunately

Unfortunately this wasn’t the miracle dog food that gets her to eat it every day. I wasn’t really expecting that but I always like to try something new for us when I find it. The 9 year old loves it and seems to do well for digestion.

She's never chosen kibble over chicken before! She also seems to have decreased GI issues since she started eating Avoderm.
