I read that you have to undo the dogs collar and put it through the muzzle but what if you only have a Martingale collar that doesnt open Will I not be able to use the collar?

The collar does have to be put through the loop at the front of the muzzle. However, if you have a martingale collar is recommended to have the 'D' ring portion facing the back of the dog's neck.
Is this type of muzzle safe for dogs to sleep in? We are fostering a dog we are worried may be violent while we are asleep, but we also don't want to put her in any danger.

It's not recommended for dogs to use this muzzle overnight. It's designed for walks and training sessions, but not intended for single-extended or unsupervised use.
My dog has been nipping .. does this muzzle prevent that?

This muzzle does double duty by protecting other pets and people from bites or nips while maintaining the welfare and happiness of your dog.
My dog cannot wear a neck collar (due to throat problems). Instead he wears a shoulder harness with the D-ring between his shoulder blades. Will this muzzle stay ON if I do NOT thread the bottom of the muzzle through a neck collar as it is supposed to be done?

While the muzzle can be worn without attaching it to the collar, it won't be as secure and may fall off if the dog shakes enough.

muzzle review

This review is not ready for prime time. I've been working with my dog to adjust to it following the instructions. So far he seems to tolerate the muzzle going on short walks. The real test will be when I have guests at the house. My dog is a heeler and nips heels of strangers. Ask me in 6 weeks.

Pretty Good

Overall it’s a pretty good muzzle. My main complaint is that the strap that is under your dogs chin that you run the collar through, is way too long. When I put it on him it folds in half and makes his muzzle sit at a really funny angle, but if your dog has more space between his throat and jaw then you should be fine. It’s also very hard to reshape fyi. The water needs to be boiling.

Baskerville Dog Muzzle

This has been the easiest muzzle to use! Our vet requires a muzzle but to use theirs its such a fight to get them on. With the Baskerville muzzle we've trained our dog for 2 weeks before the vet visit. Because the open areas allow for treats we used peanut butter...his favorite... to help encourage him to put it on and leave it on. The more we use it the easier it is for him and he can still get his bite size treats! And the vet visit went great!

Seems comfortable

My dog is rather nervous, and wasn't a fan of the muzzle when I first put it on him. Bot he quickly got used to it. His snout measurements fell between size 2 and 3, so I ordered both. I need to return the size 2. Hope Chewy takes it back!

Beard is a problem

This muzzle seems to be well made but my schnauzer is having a difficult time adjusting to it. I have trimmed his beard and he still continues to paw at it. He does not balk at putting it on after the introductory step of using peanut butter as a bribe.

muzzle for my rottie

i bought this and it actually a good product just not correct fit tried exact 1 on her at a local pet store size 5 it fit perfectly the 1 again same brand etc i bought from chewy is too big and unusable so ended up back at pet store to purchase that 1. other than sizing being off it is a decent product.

Does the job!

My dog has a bad habit of picking up food/bone on the street, and she has sensitive stomach, so we finally decided to get her muzzle. I ordered size 5 the first time but it’s too long for my dog (she’s a 85 lbs rottie girl with a short snout). So we gave it another shot and got size 4. The length fits perfectly this time (it has room for two fingers)! Though the width looks a bit too tight from the front, it still did the job of stopping her from picking up randoms stuff outside. But it is not comfortable to put it on for a long time especially for a black dog in hot weather.

Runs to big

It runs big he falls right out of it I was told to buy a size 5 when I should of bought a size 4 or maybe even a 3

I ordered the wrong size.

I can’t really say much because it does not fit. It fits around my dog’s snout but his snout is too long, so doesn’t fit the long way. Seems to be made of a nice soft rubber like material.

Worthless for bully breeds

This muzzle is worthless for dogs with smaller ears. My pit bull terrier slips it off in seconds even when it is super tight.
