What is the best way to keep the brush clean between uses?

My dachshund gets really excited when he sees this brush. One of his new favorite activities is curling up on our laps and having his smooth fur brushed. The bristles are soft enough for sensitive skin, but firm enough to detangle and smooth his short coat.
