I decided to use this house indoors with my Forster kitties as I did not have the means to secure it outside so not to blow away, as the back yard area receives lots of wind. Kittens enjoyed playing in it and I found the older cats napping in it quite often. I think only one or two cats would fit in their comfortably. The house itself seems decentlystrong and durable. My major concern was not being able to secure it. I like the reflective roofs efge for use outside will make it easy to spot from a distance. It comes with two thick flaps for the openings on the front and side to keep the weather out, they velcro on. The Velcro used is very strong and durable along with the weatherproof exterior. Overall, this little cat house is great for outdoor and indoor use.

This is for an abandoned 17-year old cat whose family no longer takes care of her, so she's been homesteading here. She would wait at the doormat to the front door to be fed in the cold all night, and once we put bedding (the reflective heat mat) and a Snuggle Safe heater with fleece and towels, she is comfortable and dry.

It's a nice house, easy to put together, although the roof was a little tricky for me because the velcro tabs kept sticking to each other before I could line them up properly. I received a dark gray one. I don't really like the color. I haven't put it outdoors. My cat is an indoor cat. He would just rather smell it and rub his face on it. It has a "window" on the front and one on the side. I think it should have a window on the other side as well. I think also it should come in different colors. It seems thick and sturdy and well-made, but not heavy. I would recommend this as shelter for an outdoor cat.

Easy to assemble and seems like the perfect solution for an outdoor cat. A lot of outdoor cat houses don’t have two exits. Apparently it’s very important. They have an extra exit in case another Animal comes in and starts a fight with them. I taped up the doorways the first few days, hoping he would go in and out of it which he did right away. That was a month or twoago and he hasn’t been in it since. I have a camera. But the weather is just getting very cold and windy now, so I’m hoping in these bad nights he will go in. I like that it’s not electric and I didn’t have to plug it in. It has something that reflects heat back to him. I used painters tapes to hold the doors up the first couple days, but it wouldn’t hold so the doors have been down since. But they’re very flexible and clear. That was another factor I liked that he could see through the flaps. Anyway, I think it’s excellent.

3.5 Stars: Comfortable Spring and Autumn Shelter...but

This is an addition to my original review made in mid October (unfortunately cannot update an existing review). Less than 2 months old and the material has separated from the edge of the ceiling. Strange indeed as I have only removed the roof 2-3 times (most often just popping my hand through the little doors to straighten the blanket)...and when I do open via the roof, it's from the side opposite that with the torn material. Am not sure why this has happened. Also, I see reviews that say this is a multi-cat house. Unless the reviewer means kittens or very petite cats, then absolutely not. this is a one-average size cat shelter (my 12-lb cat is comfy in it alone; my 8-lb cat could, but probably wouldn't, tolerate another smaller animal it it with her). Original: Because of the very light reflective insulation, the house is suitable for slightly chilly to mild-temp weather (think [mid-Atlantic] spring and autumn). Does a fine job keeping out a light to medium rain. Was pleased the thin entry/exit flaps did a decent job keeping the aforementioned rain from entering the house. Please do NOT use this as a wintering shelter. It's not advertised as such and while it may protect from the elements it will NOT be sufficient to keep an animal warm and able to survive. Assembly was straightforward...did have to fight the velcro now and again to align the roof to the sides, but easy peasy. The slightly elevated floor pops right in. To prevent outdoor spatter (and maybe some tracking), I did not place it on the ground, but on the back porch. My cats snooped about, with one making himself quite at home therein when first set up. I do hope the community cats take advantage of this new shelter this autumn.

One of the main things I love about it is that the "floor" is elevated an inch or two -- it doesn't rest completely on the ground. I imagine it'll keep the cold off better! The velcro is very strong and sturdy, no threat of it separating from the fabric during normal use. I trimmed the door flaps a teeny bit so they're easier to push aside for a kitten (It's been placed inside a larger, wood shelter my fellow resident put together for them so the whole house is enclosed.)

Cozy refuge from the elements

The cat house is extremely easy to assemble, the structure is pretty sturdy once it's all put together. No tools are required to put this up - it's all velcro straps assembly! Our cat gave it a bit of an exploration and enjoyed it for a bit, but hasn't returned (to our knowledge) since - we suspect that the flaps is something she's not super keen on crossing. Taking the house outside (its intended use), and while the weather isn't quite cold, we feel it'd provide a good shelter for outdoors pets (or wildlife) and be warmer than the outside once occupied. The floor has a semi-felt material surface, and is slightly elevated from the floor with "beams" supporting it up, which means less earth control and should retain temperature better for the pets in the house. The walls have a thermo-reflector pattern/texture, but we couldn't test its efficacy due to the weather not being cold yet, however, it would surely provide a much better shelter than a brush or the open air! One caveat should be noted - the roof incline and shape will likely result in water pooling in the center and should be checked regularly for material integrity in winter once ice sets in and expands + adds weight. Depending on the region where you and your furballs live, you might want to make sure that the refuge doesn't get squatters, however, especially if you add food. :)

First off, this was so easy to assemble. I love that it has two openings for the cats to use, and I also love the reflective strip that runs along the edge. It makes it so easy to see at night. I have two indoor/outdoor cats that sometimes, dispite my best efforts, refuse to come in some nights. They really took to this little shelter and for that, I'm grateful. I like that they have a warm place to hang out on the nights they refuse to come in. I also have a neighborhood cat that has taken a liking to it, so it's nice he has a place he can go to when he feels like it.

The assembly on this takes a bit of "holding your mouth right," but once the roof is on, the whole thing seems stable enough. I really like the offset front door. Timmy uses it under the front porch so I can't speak to rain resistance. It feels as if it would be sufficient for ordinary showers. I removed the front flap and left the side flap in place to encourage Timmy to inspect the house. He did and then moved in. I put a small bed in there for him and he seems perfectly content using this house. I wish he'd spend more time in the people house, but since he won't, this is a satisfactory alternative.

The very first night I put this cat house in my back yard (with some cat treats inside) the stray cats made themselves right at home. I put it between some bushes, but as it gets colder, (SE Michigan) I plan to put some straw inside and a cardboard barrier around it, covering the entire thing with a tarp. It seems well made and should last. I love the entrance/exit swing doors both in the front and sides, and also the separate elevations on either side to keep the house off the ground. Thumbs up!
