Is this brand baked to kill any bacteria?

Bully sticks are cleaned and sorted in a refrigerated facility to ensure safety. The bully sticks are then hung vertically from racks and cooked in an oven to ensure that they are bacteria free and safe for dog’s consumption. Hanging the bully sticks vertically removes most of the moisture from the product. The longer that they are dried, the less odor they have.

I have been purchasing this particular brand of bully stick for my miniature dachshund for quite some time and never had a problem. Until last week, when i gave

I have been purchasing this particular brand of bully stick for my miniature dachshund for quite some time and never had a problem. Until last week, when i gave him a bully bone from my most recent bag. He was not only vomiting but having diarrhea with blood and mucus everywhere. I rushed him to the vet where they confirmed it was colitis from something he consumed (the only thing outside of his usual kibble he had was this bully stick). After bloodwork, an IV drip for his dehydration, probiotics to help his gut and anti-biotics it was a $600+ vet bill. He was sick and lethargic for days and has only finally started eating again today. Please be careful and do not give these to your dog
