I got these to try with cat litter scoop as I loathed how many plastic bags I was using before. I recycle whatever I can so using grocery bags daily made recycling feel sort of pointless. These didn’t rip at all for me, maybe once when I was hasty to pull it out but other than that, no issues! I scoop my cat’s litter daily, or occasionally every other day when I’m tired, so that I can keep kidney/bladder and other health issues at bay for her. I just have one but she does potty quite a lot. I’ve had those about 2 months and only about to run out. I got smaller kind and those work fine for me but I may try larger in future. If you have multiple cats or wait a while to clean litter (don’t wait too long! They can get sick!) then I’d suggest getting the bigger size. Be gentle when pulling out and they shouldn’t rip :)

I see others have not had trouble with this, so it may be a quality control issue. Whether or not that is true, I know that the bags in my box consistently refused to tear on the perf. I ended up wasting a couple each roll because the bag itself would start ripping before the end bag would separate. Sometimes I could tie a small knot in the bag so I could use it (I have a terrier mix), but sometimes not. I always started our walk with a bag in my pocket, but this unreliability meant that the bags in the holder on the leash were useless since they may or may not tear apart. In order to be able to use these I cut them apart with scissors at home and I have a roll of the bags I used to use (no longer made) on the leash. I will be glad to get to the end of these.

I’ve been ordering these bags for probably years with few problems, but the most recent ones I got are so thin and delicate they are useless. Almost every bag of the first two rolls have shredded when torn off at the perforation. I don’t have any bags from previous orders to compare; it seems to me the bags are much thinner and lower quality than before. I’m not going to even try using the rest.

I’ve used a LOT of brands of compostable bags and these are the worst. If tearing from a dispenser, they almost always rip. They still sometimes rip even if you carefully take them out and rip while outside a dispenser. The perforation just isn’t that good so in general they’re hard to tear.

These poo bags are the worst I have ever bought. They don't tear at the crease and you can be guaranteed you are going to have a hole in the end where the crease is. I tried to buy USA and they are really cheap. I will not get them again.

Love compostable, hate how much they tear

The bags often tear past the perforation, breaking the seal and making them unusable. It can be frustrating, especially when it is 2 degrees F outside!

Great. Well, except for the poo part

Thick, & they do their part with the poop-pickup job. No leaks. No ripping open. I did notice the perforations don't "pop" apart like some brands do. Not a problem

Thick, & they do their part with the poop-pickup job. No leaks. No ripping open. I did notice the perforations don't "pop" apart like some brands do. Not a problem for me. They easily tear apart without ripping the bag or seams. One of the best prices I've found so far, too, for good bags. I paid about $0.14 per bag by buying 240. For me, "good bags" includes being TRULY eco-friendly. The certifications quoted for these bags are impressive - not just "sounding good if you don't look into it" like many. There are no composting facilities near me that accept poop-filled bags. But these will eventually decompose without leaving bad stuff behind - microplastics, etc. ... Now, if we don't just put them into a less environmentally friendly bag before trashing them. ;-) but also serious about that. I've spent some time researching, and it's tricky. There is very misleading information given by many. I'm a work in progress. Have a long way to go in doing the BEST I can for our environment. This is one step. Recycling what used to just be trashed is another. 'Working on more. Let's do this! (Hey, when picking up my dogs' poop, I must be as possitive as possible.) LOL

Green But Not Always Easy

I have been buying this item regularly for over a year and will continue to do so. It’s great that the bags are compostable. My only complaint is quality control

I have been buying this item regularly for over a year and will continue to do so. It’s great that the bags are compostable. My only complaint is quality control. In some batches of bags, the perforations aren’t very good and I’ve mangled many bags trying to separate them from the roll. The batch I’m currently using doesn’t have that problem, but several previous orders have.
