Adult Dogs: The daily amount of food that adult dogs require is influenced by their environment, activity, size and breed. The amount fed should be adjusted according to the dog’s appetite and body condition. Extremely active or hard-working dogs may require and consume 1 ½ to 3 times the amount of food indicated for their weight on the chart. Once per day feeding is adequate for adult dogs. Remember to provide plenty of fresh, clean water in a clean container at all times. For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly.

Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time.

1. Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days.

2. Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days.

3. Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days.

4. Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.
