Always love a whole Grain cat food! The reason I didn’t give this food five stars was because I am very conscious about the ingredient list. Chicken MEAL being the first ingredient is kind of a turn off then rice being the second and other fillers. However, my cat seemed to love it! So I think I’ll use it as a topper or as a treat to add into her enrichment toys! I love the unique little shapes of the kibble. But it was very cute that as soon as I poured the food into her bowl, she immediately went to town with it!

While we haven’t had enough time to do a true switch over of food as a treat all our cats (5 indoor & 3 TNRs) really enjoy Blackwood Chicken Meal & Rice Adult Cat Food. The size & shape are easy to eat. Our cats look forward to getting it. Only with a good deal of time can more details such as coat, stools, skin, eyes, health,etc be given while on said product.

I chose to try this product for my many cats. I free-feed, which means there's food down all the time for them to snack on when they desire, plenty of it, too. I

I chose to try this product for my many cats. I free-feed, which means there's food down all the time for them to snack on when they desire, plenty of it, too. I put 8 lbs of Blackwood in a pan till it was heaping full and let them "have at it". While I approve of the ingredients, it only received a lukewarm reception from my cats. They have only eaten half of it in 4 days, but are more energetic than they have been. They are just a little grouchy, too as though their blood sugar needs are not being met and they're "hangry". I only gave this 3 stars because, though it has quality ingredients, my cats are not that enthused by it.

My two cats were split on their opinion of the Blackwood Chicken Meal & Rice Recipe Adult Dry Cat Food. One liked it right away and ate it with no problem. The other wanted nothing to do with it. I’m not sure if it was the flavor or the texture. Or she’s just a finicky cat! Her sister did enjoy it and I liked that it seemed healthy.
