I tried this freeze-dried chicken topper on my two girls, Bailey, a 12 year-year old brindle mixed breed and Lovey, a blind 9 year-old Black Shepherd. I figured they would both like it because they love chicken! We boil chicken breasts and top their food with shredded chicken everyday. Bailey loves the topper! She will eat it as a topper or as treats throughout the day. Lovey will not eat it either way. I tried to slip a few pieces in with her food and the shredded chicken, but she couldn't be fooled. Two of my cats ate a couple pieces and they loved it. Since it's a little pricey I prefer to use it as treats so the bag lasts longer. The bag says you can rehydrate it and use it as a meal, but I can't imagine it would be economical to do so. With so many pets to buy for, this product would probably be better for someone with one or 2 pets. With Bailey's being 12, she thankfully hasn't had any issues getting around so I can't tell if it's helped her, but it's a healthy treat that she enjoys and hasn't had any issues with its digestion. So I consider it a win!

My greyhounds LOVED this product. While it may be marketed as a Meal Topper, these chicken bites are so much more. I used them as treats because they were bite sized and must have been very tasty since the dogs eagerly awaited the next bite. I love the fact that they are made in the USA and chicken is the first ingredient. They also have Glucosamine added which is beneficial to joint health which is especially important for my 12-year-old hound. I used them as a meal topper as well which encourage my young hound to finish her breakfast. They are also the perfect size to hide in their snuffle mats.

We give our dogs these meal toppers as treats because they love them so much and get excited for them. The ingredients make it a good treat for all our dogs ages

We give our dogs these meal toppers as treats because they love them so much and get excited for them. The ingredients make it a good treat for all our dogs ages 1 year to 14 years old with high protein and to support healthy joints. They are a little harder than typical freeze dried toppers we've tried but our toothless senior is still able to soften them up to eat. I like the size, about the size of the dime, so its good for our Chihuahuas and our 12 pounder. We'll add these toppers to our autoship!

The first time I gave my dogs (Seti & Ramses) this topper they both ate it up. Ramses is a very picky eater. When I tried to give them one of the toppers as a treat Seti ate it but Ramses would not eat it. I plan to use the Blackwood as a meal topper on their food again tonight. I'll report back as to whether Ramses (picky eater) will eat it or not. Seti (not so picky) has some arthritis so I was happy to see that this meal topper is "rich in glucosamine". Hope to tell a difference with his joint issues. 🤞

Nice addition to meals.

Both of our dogs are enjoying the chicken meal topper. They smell good and both dogs were immediately accepted them. Our older Shepherd mix is starting to get picky

Both of our dogs are enjoying the chicken meal topper. They smell good and both dogs were immediately accepted them. Our older Shepherd mix is starting to get picky so this has been helpful keeping her interested in her food, I soak a handful in warm water then add to her dry. Our younger Chihuahua mix loves these, I put a couple larger pieces in a treat toy and she enjoys working to get them out. I appreciate that they are solid enough not to crumble to bits during shipping, mind you this was the only item in the box. They may not ship as well if shipped with heavier items.

I was so hoping my pup would eat this. I thought they were soft, they are very hard. My dog is picky but he normally eats any freeze dried food/treats. I do like the size of them. They’re bite size so will be good for any size dog. I like that it has glucosamine and added vitamins and minerals. They’re also high in protein. Unfortunately my dog won’t touch them.
