About BLUE Buffalo

Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.

Game changer!

This food has been a game changer for our goldendoodle Bailey who used to chew her paws all of the time. She also has a sensitive stomach and this is so much milder on her tummy. Highly recommend!

not a good fit for my puppy

My 7 month old shiba developed an amazing coat from this food but unfortunately he wasn’t able to digest the food properly so we had to change foods. Not bad food just not for my pup.

picky puppy says absolutely not

Bought a 4lb bag to try since I saw so many great reviews and the ingredients look great as well. Puppy said absolutely not and walked away from the kibble. He’s a really picky eater though, really hoped he would like this one.

My puppy loved this food. She devoured it. However, her body could not tolerate it, so she is now on a prescription stomach diet. I would like to say on behalf of my adult dog with chicken and egg allergies that this is a great food and he likes it much more than his current dog food.

Donation to charity

I truthfully cannot leave an opinion on the food as it was a specific request for a dog rescue organization.

great food!

My picky pittie loves this food! We have tried many other brands prior, but have finally found one we can stick with! I love the fact that they make this formula in puppy & adult, which is so convenient as we are switching over to adult food now. She has sensitive skin & is very allergy prone and this food has appeared to be a good match for her.

An Honest Review

So first things first, I appear to have a picky puppy on my hands. I heard good things about this brand from vets and friends, so ordered a large bag. I liked the one-meat diet with a focus on food sensitivities. Breeder told me to avoid chicken... which has been tough, since seems to be what my pup likes best. Anyways, she wouldn't touch this stuff. I am not knocking the brand or this product, its my dog. Personally, I recommend this stuff for pet owners with less picky dogs. I think it has the best ingredients and health benefits of all the foods I have tried so far. My pup also likes large pellets for some odd reason, this one has small -- as in cat food style -- pellets. Once again, totally understand for most pups they are easier to digest. But once the puppy teeth fall out, it tends to fall out of their mouth and all over the floor. Long story short... if you have a picky eater, get a small bag first (of a few different brands, meat types and pellet size) and run a taste test. If you have a generalist eater, I think this food would be great for them. It will cause some wet poop at first tho, as the pre-biotics and pro-biotics cleanse their system. Same stuff happens with us humans if you were to begin supplementing with digestive health stuff.

New favorite food

We have tried several different types of food with our puppy but she kept scratching her ears, the sides of her tummy, and biting at her paws. Our vet told us to try a poultry free food that is either lamb, turkey, or white fish with limited other ingredients. We tried a few different brands, but my dog would only eat them if she was super hungry and was willing to eat anything at that point. With this food, as soon as I poured it in her bowl she gobbled it right up! She’s only been consuming it for a couple of days now so I can’t say whether it has helped with the itching, but this is the first food she’s tried that tastes so good that she keeps coming back for more.
