About BLUE Buffalo

Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.

My 7.5 year old cat has been managing Irritable Bowel Disease for 6 years mostly with hydrolyzed or single protein foods. Recently he began experiencing idiopathic cystitis which is normally managed through diet. His vet recommended this food based on her research. It's a different protein than what he has been doing well on with his IBD, but it was supposed to help with cystitis. He's been on it for 3 weeks now and he's doing great--no cystitis and he's even been a little more active and playful than he's been in awhile. I'm very happy with this product.

Novel protein food my cat actually gets excited for.

My guy has severe food intolerances. He can’t have any poultry, fish, or beef. Poor guy can’t even keep venison down. We’ve had good success keeping him puke free with Instinct limited ingredient Rabbit. He likes it fine, but is never excited for it, even the wet version. This alligator formula food is the first thing he’s ever gotten really excited over. We don’t let him eat it exclusively because it costs so much. But he gets a small bowl full twice a day. He likes it so much, I can get away with giving his brothers a chicken based food and he’ll be too happy about his alligator to care what they’re eating. Thanks so much for making this! My only complaint is the price is definitely steep!

My older cat has gained weight, fur looks good, and hes active now. With inflammatory bowel issue we tried different novel proteins and hydrolyzed protein but over time he got thinner and appeared to be on his way out until I tried this. 2nd cat eats it too. They both like it.

Well, this food is great! It’s expensive but I’ve never experienced an out of stock problem unlike some other novel protein restricted diet foods. My cat doesn’t actually need it now since we determined it was not a food allergy issue, but I haven’t switched off of it yet. Again, I’m most grateful that this is alway in stock.

Great food, but cat who needed it wouldn't eat it

My cat who needs to try a novel protein diet due to a suspected chicken allergy wouldn't eat this food. My other cat loved it! I think this food is worth a try

My older cat started to have digestive problems

The vet suggested alligator as a protein source. I was so happy he loves it!!! Problem solved. Such a relief.

At first my cat was picky with this diet because she had been vomiting from a different food. Once she would vomit from the food, she would refuse to eat it. She slowly started eating more of this food and now loves it. I found bite marks on the bag because she likes it so much. She has vomited on the food once, but it was because she ate too fast. I was worried she wouldn’t eat it after that, but she still begs for her food. Hoping this is the solution for my food allergy cat!

The fact that both of my cats would tear my throat out to get at this stuff

I had hoped the change of primary protein for my cat with the digestive issues might have helped him with his vomiting, but it didn't. He loves it regardless, so I am proceeding letting him have a few pieces at a time a couple times of day in hope that his system might get to where it will accept it. So far, no luck, but because he LOVES it so much, I'm going to continue with this experiment for a few week. I've also added a fairly new biome additive by Purrlife to his diet in hopes it will help. Wish us luck.
