Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow a 7 to 14-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Cats will often refuse mixed diets, so we recommend adding the new food to a separate bowl from the old food. For a 14-day transition plan, start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Days 1-4. On Days 5-8, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Days 9-11, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Days 12-14, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

About BLUE Buffalo
Blue Buffalo began with unconditional love and some furry inspiration from a large breed Airedale, Blue. When Blue's family started a pet food company, their vision was clear. They wanted every pet parent to be able to feed their pet with the same care they would feed family. So they created the #1 natural pet specialty food to help furry family members live happy, healthy lives. Of course, they named it after Blue.

Great for allergies!
By 5678 on Jan 7, 2021
Our Vet prescribed this food because our cat was having severe allergies. He was always uncomfortable and becoming aggressive. He had over-groomed to the point he had no hair on his belly and was covered in sores. Within a few weeks of switching to this food his skin started to clear. After 2 months his hair is growing back and his playful personality returned.

Great stuff
By jackjack on Jan 5, 2021
My older fella was prescribed z/d but the kibble was too big, as he's lost some teeth. We have been using this for over a year and he still cleans his plate with no tummy upset. I wound up feeding it to all 3 of my kitties because of course they won't stay out if each other's food. They all love it, everyone has energy, shiny fur and eyes.

Didn’t work
By MomG on Jan 8, 2021
I’m not sure why my cat had a reaction to this food?....he eats the wet variety of this with no problem.. his skin broke out, so had to stop feeding it to him....expensive mistake! It may be fine for others ..didn’t work for us ..

So Far So Good
By Denny on Nov 12, 2020
I am still in the mixing in period with the old Hill's diet which my 13 year old cat with IBD hates. So far he is actually eating more and his stools are as good as they ever are. Fortunately, or unfortunately my other cat without issues steals some of this food, where as the other prescription diets she wouldn't touch. I say it is unfortunate that she likes his food because the price is outlandish.

We have an order from our vet for this product because of Oconee's skin issues. She loves it and is gobbling it up.

My Cat Loves This Food
By Tracy on Aug 3, 2020
I was very pleasantly surprised with this food. My vet suggested I try this formula as the prescription food she was on he said could cause outbreaks. My cat is very picky about her food and to my delight she absolutely devours it! It makes feeding time so much easier when she loves what she is eating!

My Boy Loves This!
By PamG on Sep 30, 2020
Best dry food yet for my 16 year old cat! He has been able to eat again without vomiting and that is such a blessing! Thank you Blue Buffalo!

Happy to have found this food
By Rochelle on Jun 19, 2020
My cat developed terrible food allergies at the age of two and for almost 4 months I have been trying to find a food that is palatable to him. I have tried so many limited ingredient foods that I could start my own pet store. This BB hydrolyzed food was really the last stop and it was one of the only hydrolyzed foods that did not list powdered cellulose as one of the ingredients (buyers beware). He has been eating this food for about a week now and seems to enjoy it. His skin condition is clearing up (also with the help of steroids) and he is scratching way less. We're only a week in but I think this food has made a tremendous difference and I'm so happy to have found it.

Cat Food For A Small Dog With IBS
By Monkey on Oct 15, 2020
My 7 lbs. Maltypoo has been diagnosed with IBS and needed small bite hydrolyzed kibble diet to vomiting.

Makes my cat vomit
By Catmom on May 11, 2020
This is not good for IBD cats because of its high carbohydrate levels. and IBD cats usually cannot handle dry kibble due to slow motility in their digestive tract. . My cat wanted to eat the food, and against my gut feeling, I started to slowly introduce this food because my vet wanted my cat to try it. At first, my Sammy was fine; but after a week of eating the food, Sammy has vomited four days in a row and had diarrhea yesterday.. Now, he won’t touch anything and is nauseated. Back to the vet I go! This food does smell good and it might work for cats with other digestive issues, but not for IBD cats.
