When the Blue Buffalo Wilderness Salmon (Wet) became unavailable - we tried other options, the first Tuna (flaked) proved disappointing - its not a "flaked" product, just some kibbles in a sauce - also very inconsistent - their product weights would vary from 5.3 to 5.7 ounces (very noticeable as soon as you opened a can, sometimes a dime sized void would be present, I guess the kibbles were hard to distribute into the can. Anyway the Tuna Pate is more consistent and a side benefit - not as strong an odor as the Salmon.
These proved to be "less" tasteful in the opinion of my 3 cats. They willingly ate the first can we tried, but after that, it's a firm Nope. Now I'm left with a lot of cans I'm not sure what to do with.
My 6 cats have previously been okay with this food - but the last case none would touch to the point I was scared food was unsafe. I contacted Blue Buffalo who mostly dismissed my pet safety/health concerns and said their 100% guarantee is only valid through chewy. Not comfortable donating possibly unsafe food, I'll take the $35 hit and boycott Blue Buffalo going forward.
My kitties love the BB pate. They lick all the gravy around the other style foods and leave the chunks but with the pate, they eat it all up. They lick the bowls clean.
My cat didn't like this brand of cat food. he only likes pate' and is a picky eater.
I don't know why these larger cans should be different than the 3 oz but obviously they are (and I was hoping to save money with the larger size). They are more solid, darker, just don't have the same consistency as the 3 oz of the same flavor. My 17 year old doesn't like these like she does the 3 oz size (and she is the one I was purchasing for because she doesn't have many teeth left). I would not recommend these in this size. Thankfully my youngest cat will eat this and the ferals will also eat it so it is not a total loss.
I suppose it's tasty since my bb eats some of it however, I end up throwing the rest out bc it gets hard she won't eat it even if I add water. This food is too dry, the gravy is not enough to keep it moist at all. As soon as I opened the can i knew this isn't going to be a keeper. I stopped buying it.
One of my Cats with Digestive issues had stopped eating the Food recommended by the IM Vet. She started loosing weight, she is a petite Cat and can’t afford that. Our primary Vet told me to try whatever food she will eat to avoid complications from weight loss. My Kitty does not like Wet food, except for human Tuna Fish. She refused to eat the dry Cat Food my other Cats eat. I was desperate to get her to eat. I tried different “wet” foods she refused to eat it. I feed my Cats Blue Buffalo Dry Food, Rx and non-Rx Dry Food. I decided to try BB canned food. She likes “Tuna Fish”, I bought the Ocean Fish/Tuna Pate wet food. At first, she refused to eat it. I blended it into a liquified state and added some water. To my delight, she started to drink it. Kitty is “drinking the porridge” I make for her with this canned food. She is holding her weight, her Vet and I are pleased. Thank you!
I bought this to replace the plastic containers of the small tastefuls I had purchased before. My cats did not like the pate nor the taste of this food and all the cans are the same not an assortment. This food had to go back but make sure your cats love this is before purchasing. The Chewy rep I spoke to Andrew was kind enough to recommend a Chewy brand that he feeds his cats...Thanks!
My cat is a picky boy and won't touch most of the tastefuls because he doesn't like the texture, he'll really only eat this one and the chicken pate (and he still thinks the chicken is just ok). This one is his favorite!! It's been hard to find a healthy food my picky boy likes and I think we've finally found it! I hope they make more flavors that are the same texture as this one so he can have some variety.
