All Blue Buffalo products are manufactured in the United States. Many of their ingredients, such as most grains and meats, like chicken, beef and turkey come from the United States. Where possible, Blue's suppliers are instructed to source their ingredients from the United States. Where the ingredients are not readily available in the Unites States, such as many vitamins and minerals, their suppliers will only work with reliable foreign companies, and subject all ingredients to rigorous quality testing. None of the ingredients are sourced from China.
The "true blue" promise for this product is "no chicken/poultry" by-product meals. Then I look at the ingredient list on the back and the first line contains "chicken meal"?

Blue Buffalo does not use chicken/poultry by-product meals in their formulas. By-products are the identified meat, plus some of the internal organs. An example of this would be chicken by-products, which would consist of chicken meat, plus some of the internal organs. Meal is the dry rendered product from a combination of clean chicken flesh and skin with or without accompanying bone, derived from whole carcasses of chicken, exclusive of feathers, heads, feet and entrails. The Meal is used as a source of high protein.
My cat is allergic to chicken. He like this duck recipe, but I need to give him something free of chicken. Which of the Blue Wilderness dry foods for cats are completely chicken-free? Thanks.

For a chicken-free recipe, the Blue Buffalo Basics Limited Ingredient Grain-Free Formula Duck & Potato Indoor Adult Dry Cat Food would be a great alternative option.
