About BLUE
BLUE started with a promise made to a lovable Airedale named Blue, who struggled with health issues. His family wanted to feed him the best food possible, so they searched for something with high-quality ingredients, but decided they could create something even better – a natural pet food with healthy ingredients, real meat first, and some of the highest standards in the industry. That promise still drives Blue Buffalo to seek out the healthiest ways to feed and nurture our four-legged family members. It's a promise that lives on for you and your pets every time you fill their bowls with BLUE.
Please forgive my ignorance but what IS the difference between Adult & Senior wet/dry food?
Answer by • Mar 12, 2018
Adult dog food is fortified for dogs between the ages of 1 through 6 years old It's formulated to meet all the nutritional needs of a standard adult dog. Senior dog food is fortified for dogs ages 7 years old and above. Generally, it's formulated to help senior dogs with reduced protein, fat yet higher fiber content to help with digestive systems, brain health, and more as dogs continue to age.
Do the ingredients all of them, come from United States
Answer by • Apr 29, 2021
Many of Blue Buffalo's ingredients, such as most grains and meats, like chicken, beef and turkey come from the United States. Lamb and venison can be free range from the United States or New Zealand. Rabbit is sourced from Europe, and trout can come from the United States or Canada. Where possible Blue's suppliers are instructed to source their ingredients from the United States. Where the ingredients are not readily available in the Unites States, such as many vitamins and minerals, their suppliers will only work with reliable foreign companies, and subject all ingredients to rigorous quality testing.
Is this a pate style canned food or is it stew/ chunks ?
Answer by • Sep 24, 2018
This recipe has a pate consistency.
What is the sodium content?
Answer by • Sep 12, 2019
This formula has approximately 0.10% sodium on an as fed basis.
They claim to be grain and chicken free but the third ingredient is turkey. My dog is allergic to poultry and I bought a case only for her to not be able to eat this. Last time I trust a label instead of reading the ingredients.

Best Canned Dog Food Ever!
My elderly black lab had lost most of her teeth, so I decided to get a high-quality canned food for her. Her hips had been showing and she'd been losing weight. After just a few days, her weight has improved greatly and her energy had improved surprisingly well. She loves her food now! I highly recommend this dog food for older dogs!

They love it!
Bought this for my picky senior citizen and he loved it! My other, not-so-senior, dog also loves it. Every time I open a can I have both of them dancing around my feet, hungry and ready for food! Bonus points for this food being a great way to sneak a pill into it like a sloppy meat ball. Did that one have a special sprinkle? Dog didn't notice. Yay!

Senior dog food
As a senior dog, Shadow seems to prefer beef flavor over chicken. He was pretty satisfied with the Blue Buffalo Senior Chicken until we introduced him to the Red Meat dinner. We are happy that he likes this and eats without hesitation like he began to do with the chicken flavor. The only "beef" he has about the Red Meat dinner is that it is more finely ground than the chicken. Will probably buy again, but he really likes the Blue Buffalo chunky beef. However, I don't believe this is formulated for senior dogs. Overall, we've been more than satisfied with Blue Buffalo brand for our dog and our cat.

my senior loved this!
I know some folks aren’t happy with the soupy consistency but we love it!! I feed my senior half a can then refrigerate the other half for the next meal. My guy for some reason has been a super picky eater - he’ll only eat 1x a day or not at all for a few days. The vet said he’s just choosy about what he’ll eat. Ok. 10+ types of food later we found out he only wants wet food and he’s 12 now so I wanted senior. He eats this without hesitation. I have no worries about his eating because he likes this stuff. I’m happy if he’s happy. Thank you.

Varity is the spice of life, as they say
I have been trying several of the different choices and haven't found any that she doesn't like. I will be sticking with the Basic and the Chicken and veggies for seniors for now.

Just information for you.
.I have been a Red Meat Dinner Senior a long time. In the last year I have found it to be wet, loose, and not firm as it was. It also has black specks in the food. Maybe the company is sending you a new version. I will no longer purchase the yuck for my Fred.
