Instructions

The noisiest, most annoying boat ride ever
Well, I'd love to love this life jacket. It was the right size and fit pretty well, altho I wasn't happy with the way the foam pad slipped out from under the buckle
Well, I'd love to love this life jacket. It was the right size and fit pretty well, altho I wasn't happy with the way the foam pad slipped out from under the buckle and strap around his throat -- leaving just the bare strap against his neck. I was planning to stitch the strap in place back home (we're on vacay), but... our Siberian Husky HATED it. Ever heard a Sibe yowl and whine, non-stop, while you're trying to enjoy yourself?! He was inconsolable. Perhaps because the waist flaps and straps covered up his precious pee-pee, but whatever the reason, as soon as we let him ride in the boat (my eyes never left him and my hands never left his leash!! :o ), he was happy as a clam once again. So, the product is well made, and very attractive (we chose the bright yellow b/c that's one of two colors dogs see well)... but a) I suggest using it only for female dogs, or dogs with less ego than ours, and b) make sure the neck strap and flap match up and stay matched up. Good luck! Hope you and your pup have a better experience than we did.

I do really like this life vest. It’s not overly puffy and sits nicely against my 43 lbs Dalmatian (size medium). The girth has just enough Velcro but the quick release straps are more than long enough. The only spot that might get a little annoying is the front strap across the chest. There is ample quick release strap to attach, however, the padding doesn’t have Velcro and doesn’t attach to each other so the one side of the padding can slip under the quick release strap. This would not impair its use at all, would just be a cosmetic annoyance and may not have that issue if the dog is getting in and out of the water often! Overall, this will be a life vest I pull out before some of my other current ones for sure!

Very well made dog life preserver. The material is soft and seems durable. Around the neck is soft and secure with an adjustable buckle. The belly is as well with wrap around hook and look in addition to two buckles. At first I thought it would be too large (my dog is between sizes and oddly shaped) but it fit perfectly! The handle on the top is a great feature. My only issue is the belly straps are quite long and don't have a place to be secured or tucked in. I'll need to shorten them myself so my dog doesn't trio over them.

Strap appears to be sturdy and balanced. Dolly was able to run without coming out of vest. Overall great safety vest I gave 4. Stars because of the neck fitting
A little snug- runs small
I got the medium size vest for my medium sized Brittany breed. Although I liked the Velcro for extra securing, not much of the Velcro actually fastened. The vest

The vest seems to run small and a lot of the Velcro is exposed. It’s good that it also has the clips to hold it closed, because I wouldn’t trust that just the Velcro would hold. The vest material itself has a nice soft feel.
Lacks floatation support under the dog
This life jacket is less than desirable for dogs to learn to swim or to be used onboard a vessel. it has minimum floatation underneath the dog (abdominal area)
This life jacket is less than desirable for dogs to learn to swim or to be used onboard a vessel. it has minimum floatation underneath the dog (abdominal area) which is were you want the dog supported and only a small amount above the dog (on its top line). I teach dock diving and I would not recommend this life jacket. It also has a large gap from neck to belly strap with absolutely no support. I prefer life jackets with more support under the dog to provide more floatation to help lift them up and support them to be straight at top of water when swimming rather than to "pull" them up from above and ride above them as this one does.

The handle on the top is well made and I am not worried at all about it handling my pups 38 lbs. I got the medium. I have a Pomsky so he has a more husky chest and it easily fit over, and around his chest. The color is so great and the quality of the material and padding is SUPERIOR! The length of the life vest on his back was perfect to ensure he can swim easily as well. All around, this is a solid high quality life vest!
Looks nice but doesn’t work well
The belly part slides out of the straps constantly so it doesn’t end up offer much support. Size L ended up fitting our 60lb golden retriever pretty well but just

Decent but buckles could be improved
I got this life jacket for my 45 lbs springer spaniel. The jacket fit him ok, a bit weird on the chest but he is very narrow so it can be hard to get a good fit

I liked the colors and it isn't too bulky. I took two stars away because the buckles and straps don't seem super durable but I haven't had issues yet.
Safety First
Our Husky mix is a 45 lb dog of healthy weight. The Medium needed to be tightened on her, so I imagine it would fit an average build dog of 55lbs or so. It does

It does the job well - although she is a swimmer, when boating, we prefer to be safe. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because it is missing a leash attachment, which would come in handy, if her collar is removed.
