Our two rescued dogs, who are not picky, refused to eat these rawhide twists

Our 6 dogs love "Hillside Farms Chicken And Rawhide Jerky Wraps", and "Wootsy Chicken Wrapped Rawhide Sticks". Since Chewy has recently provided a good discount on its products, I decided to try to expand the range of our dog's treats. I bought these treats for two of our large dogs weighing 60 and 120 pounds that were rescued from the street. However, they both refused to eat it as soon as they smelled it. They were not picky at all after their previous experiences of being homeless. Therefore, I was very surprised by such their reaction on treats. I carefully examined and sniffed these delicacies. I always taste dog food myself, and I only give them what I define as quality food. These particular treats have a pungent lye smell. Rawhide for dogs is always prepared using highly alkaline solutions. And if it smells like lye, it means they didn't even bother to wash it well before using it for the production of treats. We spend significant resources to improve the health of our rescued dogs both financially and through the contributions of our time. I'm not ready to ruin their recovery by persuading them to eat this product.

I have purchased other rawhide pops and Riley quickly and safely enjoyed them. Unfortunately, this was not the case with these. The two parts quickly separate

I have purchased other rawhide pops and Riley quickly and safely enjoyed them. Unfortunately, this was not the case with these. The two parts quickly separate and he has trouble chewing them. The red part got all discolored and never softened and the white part never softed either and I feared he would choke on it.

Very Disappointed

The product looked unappetizing and unappealing. Looked mostly like a stick with some kind of meat barely wrapped around it. Most of the meat was in small pieces
