Bright Ways for Pets to Play

Brightkins treat puzzles and treat dispensers provide your pets with mental enrichment and stimulation as they try to find treats and kibble in the hidden compartments. Each product is designed with safety in mind using BPA-free materials.

Treat Puzzles

Multiple hidden treat compartments challenge your dog to sniff, lick, and paw his way through snack or mealtime! These puzzles also help fast eaters slow down, and each puzzle comes with a training guide written by a professional dog trainer.

Treat Dispensers

Brightkins treat dispensers add a brain-teasing challenge to snack time. Sniffing and licking can help keep dogs calm, and 20 minutes of sniff work is equivalent to a one-hour walk. Their two-piece design makes them easy to clean, too.

Brightkins Tough and Tumble

Made from durable, non-toxic rubber free from latex and BPA, Brightkins Tough and Tumble toys are safe for dogs who are tough on their toys. Great with treats or kibble, they provide a bouncing, wobbling challenge for dogs of all breeds and ages.

About Brightkins

Brightkins paws-on interactive toys and training tools unlock pets' curiosity and engage the entire family. After nearly 40 years designing toys that make learning fun for kids, they’re excited to bring learning to life for your furry family, too.

Was entertaining but clever dogs beat in seconds

My dogs (4) each had one and within seconds figured out how to easily pull the tops off the hydrants.

There was nothing to help this stay in place

My dog picked it up and the tops came off very easily and he was able to get the treats out in under a minute. I would not buy this again.

When it arrives, it's broken into a couple of pieces that you snap into place. You can open each hyrdrant and lay a couple of treats inside. It can't be too much, though, or else it will fall out through the gap at the bottom while you are preparing it. As for how it functions, I figured it would've been a lot easier for the set to twirl. In actuality, not that well. It does spin but it requires your intervention. If left to the dog, the toy is most likely to be thrown across the house and toppled over before it does a complete twirl. If they loosened up the attachment in the middle and allowed it to twirl more, I'd see this product working out as advertised. A bit of a disappointment, but what can you expect from plastic? I originally intended to give this product a 3 out of 5, but I decided against it because this toy revealed to me that my pup is starting to develop a bit of Resource Guarding behavior after I wanted to help him twirl it as demonstration; so I appreciate that this was revealed to me early through this toy.

This takes her awhile to get all the treats out.

She watches me fill it and goes to work on it. Not as easy as you’d think, but she enjoys it.

Pretty difficult treat dispenser.

I like the idea of this, the spinning so it'll keep my pup a little more engaged but the treats don't come out as easy as it looks like it should. I even tried with just kibble pieces and the hydrant all the way open- it's just so tough for my pup to get unless she knocks it over. Great idea, just doesn't seem to be executed well.

It’s fun

It’s fun to watch my dogs spin it and chase the food. And it doesn’t hold too much food. It’s great!

Puzzle toy best for puppies or cats

The Brightkins Spinning Hydrants Treat Puzzle Dog Toy is made with relatively sturdy materials, and it is very easy to put together without the need of instructions. The colorful toy makes it naturally intriguing, and our dog is interested in it. However, the size of the toy as depicted in the advertisement is misleading, as it is much smaller than one would think. The top part of each "hydrant" can be detached for filling treats, but they are also very easily detached, making it not particularly sturdy for play, except for puppies and/or the most gentle pups. The "spinning" part does not move as well as one would want, though it's not a big issue. In our household, it serves way better as a cat puzzle toy than for the dogs. We would recommend it only for itty bitty puppies, toy breeds, or cats.

Could be really fun if it would spin.

I bought this for my 7# toy poodle to improve her puzzle skills while having some fun. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to spin, therefore the treats/kibble does not dispense. Even my 19# genius, mini poodle had a hard time spinning the hydrants and ended up tossing the puzzle around to get the kibble.
