Is there a minimum age requirement for this cake?

Answer by ChewyMay 23, 2022
This cake treat is for adult dogs.

How can I cut it or portion it out for my dogs? It's so hard.

Answer by ChewyFeb 10, 2022
The Unisex Dog Cake is best cut with a serrated knife. These have a standard shelf life of up to 1 year and do not require refrigeration or freezing. The edges of the cake are much darker than the inside, that is completely normal. The molasses and honey in the recipe caramelize to a dark outside color, that is not burnt, it's normal, that's just the way they look.

What vegetables are used for the vegetable coloring?

Answer by ChewyNov 19, 2021
The cakes are made with bananas, a rich source of potassium, fiber, vitamin B6 and C. They use pumpkin in the biscuits, and apple in the shelf stable cakes, cake pops, cake bites, and brownies, a fabulous source of fiber and great digestive aid. They use coconut on top of the decorated treats (instead of artificial sprinkles), a wonderful fruit with antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties excellent for so many symptoms.

Can humans eat this dog cake too?

Answer by ChewyMay 19, 2025
This cake is not intended for human consumption.

We got this for our puppy-son’s 8th birthday. He is extremely picky about his food. To the point that he will typically not take a treat from your hand. We got this to celebrate him, but weren’t sure he was going to eat it. It took him a few minutes of sniffing it before he decided he wanted it real bad! He didn’t want to eat it near his food bowl, so he picked up his cake and took it to a bedroom to enjoy. He ate almost every bite of his cake and was so happy while doing so. Definitely a win!

Disappointed was so dry and hard, inedible for my dog's last birthday.

I bought it for Kai's last birthday with us. The expiration date was for December. It looked nice but it was so hard, dried out, and crumbly. His cancer came back

I bought it for Kai's last birthday with us. The expiration date was for December. It looked nice but it was so hard, dried out, and crumbly. His cancer came back on his snout and mouth and he had no interest in eating it. Once we were able to break it apart it just was crumbly. It was sealed until being opened and just had to throw it away. :(

This cake was hard as a rock. It was comical that it came with a candle because there was no way you could push a candle through the top of the cake. The cake was so hard. I had to use a large steak knife to cut off an edge. I let my dog smell it, but she wasn’t interested(It had no smell). Instead, it went into the trash. I would like a refund for this product.

Very disappointed

Cake was much smaller than presented, not worth $28. Also, it was so hard that Tango could not bite it, i actually had to cut it into smaller pieces for my hound

Not worth the $

For $27 I expected something a little bigger than a 3-4in cake, even though it was very cute. Also, it was hard as a rock and required me using a large kitchen knife

For $27 I expected something a little bigger than a 3-4in cake, even though it was very cute. Also, it was hard as a rock and required me using a large kitchen knife to chop through it to make small enough pieces for our dogs, most of which made a crumble mess all over in the process. It was a cute idea in appearance just not in execution of the edible part.

I threw my rescue dog a party for his first birthday with me and went all out. Got cake for him, mainly for photos. It definitely was adorable for photos. But it was so hard, that I didn't even bother trying to cut into it at the party. When I finally did at home, the bottom was visibly burnt and smelled burnt too. I scraped all that off and saved the rest of the cake. But I got so many other yummy cookies and treats for his party plus things from guests, that I probably will end up tossing this whole cake. Would not recommend this one except for the photos. The Pup-pie from The Lazy Dog Cookie Co. was a much better choice, soft and easy to share, and was what the dogs at the party actual ate. I was extra bummed this cake was burnt...

It turned to dust

The outside was hard as a rock and the inside was so dry, it turned to dust. I tried to add a picture but it wouldn't let me. My dog ate it but that isn't saying

Niko just lost his sister, Jewel, last month. This was his 10th birthday and we wanted to do something special. He was hysterical because at first he didn’t know what to do with it. It’s big so we cut it in thirds and he only got a third the first day but he loved it.

Perfect Size

Celebrating my boys 9th birthday! He absolutely loved this cake. He’s a big boy and I had to portion the cake over 2 days.
