These bones are treated with irradiation. Irradiation is a process in which the treats are exposed to low-dose gamma rays (like dental x-rays) for approximately 16 hours. Irradiation is used to guarantee that no microbial contamination, such as Salmonella or E. coli, exists in the treats to prevent serious illness in your pet.

Beware, these splinter!

These bones seem very unsafe. My dog choked on one and when she spit it up, the pieces were splintered and pointy. Seems very dangerous. I would suggest not purchasing

Less sturdy than I'd hoped

The bones splintered when chewed, resulting in shards. Our corgi is a super-gnawer but not a strong chewer. I was surprised to see this come apart.

Splinters, do not give to your dog!

As soon as my medium sized dog started to chew the rib it splintered. I ended up having to throw all of them away.

Warning!

FirstI'd like to say that I did NOT buy these from Chewy. However, since I see them sold on this site I thought a review would be helpful. DO NOT BUY!!

FirstI'd like to say that I did NOT buy these from Chewy. However, since I see them sold on this site I thought a review would be helpful. DO NOT BUY!! This product produces very hard, sharp shards which are dangerous for a dog to swallow. My dog threw up after chewing up one of these and many sharp chards were detected. If you have purchased these....THROW THEM AWAY!
