To small to keep my 6lb morkie from reaching her sutures
on Oct 14, 2019
6lb morkie could reach her sutures with it on so it was never used, but luckily id bought the lion head collar so we had a backup which was perfect.

We have a 7 month puppy who just got spayed. She was instantly at her stitches at the vet so they sent her home with a standard cone. She hated it to say the least - it was sized properly but was so long and wide that she would catch it on the ground when she was trying to walk because it was heavy, and she would smash into everything because it was so wide. It also wasn’t adjustable - it had a string tying it to her neck which we were desperately afraid she would eat. She eventually found a way to get her mouth under the edge of the cone and eat away at the plastic which left us desperately searching for a better solution. This cone is perfect. It’s shorter and stays closer to her face because it’s adjustable with snaps which make it so easy to take on and off or adjust sizing. The edges have soft leather so it doesn’t dig into her neck or damage anything if she runs into it. She seems to sleep much better with this cone versus the other one and I definitely don’t notice her trying to take it off as much. It’s much lighter and she walks around normally, has a much easier time eating and drinking with it on, and overall seems much happier. The only thing she can reach if she tries hard enough is her leg area. Just be aware if your pup has a lower leg injury that you need a cone for - but for spaying purposes it is perfect. We didn’t use the calming patch for this so I can’t comment on that but the rest has worked out great.… more
Not good for large dogs!

We got this for our Great Dane puppy (8 months old / 120+ lbs) for protection after his operation for Cherry Eyes. It took him all of two days to figure out his legs were long enough to get around it to scratch his eyes. We ended up getting a larger one from the vet.
Great E Collar

The fit was perfect. Glad I read the instructions one last time. Our dog is a bulluahuah mix so his neck is large for his size. Fits great! Our vet suggested we buy it to trim his nails, since a muzzle makes him nervous.
Great Collar! (if you read the instructions)

I don't understand all the bad reviews for the e-collar. Once I took the time to read the instructions, it was easy to put on. The key is to push the metal clip from the outside.
Works well. A pain to get on a cat.

The clasp are terrible for putting onto cats. Learn how the clasp work before trying to put it on your patient. I recommend closing the outer one, slipping it over onto said cat's head, then closing the inner clasp. But, once it's on, it will stay on. The adjustment sizes are great, too. My cat hates it! But it will keep her from scratching herself raw and licking off the meds. She can even eat and drink (use a small bowl). There is some overhang that silly putty will take care of. Recommend this size for cats up to 10lbs. If your cat is heavier, you may want to go up a size.

The collar is very poorly made. Within days of purchasing it, strings were fraying off all over the place. It is also very short for a cone, my puppy was still able to bite and lick at her back end with it on and she was in the proper size according to the packaging.
Hard to fasten

I found this collar very challenging to put on. The Three button type things never would go inside the holes. I wish there was an easier way to get it fastened.
Chewy is the best!!

I haven't used the collar yet. I bought it in case I will need it in the future OR a guest dog might need to use it.
