We have never tried toppers for our dog food before - and we have been missing out! The first ingredient is Chicken - no byproducts here! This is also appropriate for all life stages (puppyhood thru senior) which is great for those with multiple dogs. We also love that this product is made in the USA and my dog loves the Chicken & Vegetable Recipe. She gets so excited for this meal enhancer that it gives us a great opportunity to work on her wait command.

This was our first time to try CANIDAE All Life Stage Chunky Stew Toppers, Chicken and Vegetables. My sweet Jasper is 7 1/2 years old, a mixed breed (Catahoula and Great Dane) and weighs 87 lbs. I included three small spoonfuls over his dry food, he was very excited and ate his meal quickly, he really enjoyed it! The CANIDAE Chicken and Vegetables has a limited ingredient list, chunks of vegetables and barley and smelled like stew. Jasper is not a picky eater but he did thoroughly enjoy this addition to his evening meal. My one surprise was the can label states the food should be used within three days of opening, Jasper will be getting a little extra in his bowl next time.

This Topper is a great product all around! My dog continues to love the taste - and gets extra excited at mealtime now. It seems to have the perfect ratio meat to veggies, and is kind to his digestion which is sometimes sensitive. It smells very good, like chicken stew. The cans have an easy, sturdy pull-top lid which I appreciate. The ingredients are very high quality and readable. I will be serving this with my little dog's kibble for the forseeable future.

It seems ok. The problem for me is that it is more suitable for a multiple dog or a big dog household. Must be used up in 3 days, can be only a restricted percentage

It has a nice chunky texture and adds some moisture to the hard kibble. The smell is pleasant with no strong chemical odors.
