We used to love it...
By Cristina on Jan 2, 2021
Our dogs used to love this food. When we initially switched to this food, there was no issue at all, and we were glad that it was high quality at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, for the last two bags the food has come as pure crumbs, with most of the food being crushed. We had hoped that the crumbs from the first bag were a shipping issue, but clearly it was not. Our dogs now hate the crumby texture and dislike eating the food, so we need to switch to another brand. There has been a noticeable and unfortunate decline in quality recently, and I would recommend that buyers look at another food for their dogs.

I'm not sure why there is bad reviews on this line. This food is great and my dogs love it. It focuses on the protein and has added probiotics.

Pups still unsure
By Tuscangrandma on Feb 8, 2021
Our Bassett hound and our Terrier will eat it with a topper of some kind. I think I will change the blend next time. Chewy's customer service and delivery is always the best.

BEWARE OF GRAIN FREE DOG FOOD
By AmyI on Nov 11, 2020
I am writing this in the emergency vet parking lot. My heart is broken. My 4 year old Weimaraner has been eating this for a year now and started showing symptoms last week of what I know now as Dilated Cardiomyopathy. She is in Heart Failure. The vet believes it has something to do with a grain free diet. I only wish I would have know earlier. I am so so sad. This has nothing to do with Chewy but these grain free foods need a disclaimer. I’m loosing my best friend because of it.

Good food but whats with the crumbs ?
By Hbrown on Oct 13, 2020
feeding this to 5 of my 6 dogs, all have allergies to one thing or another and this food agrees with all 5, we are 3 months in feeding this brand and have great coats, energy levels are perfect, weight great and nice poo's and zero occurrences of allergies BUT this has to be the messiest food i have ever fed !!! Some bags are regular kibble but other bags contain crumbled kibble and quite a lot of it. I feed it moistened with warm water and also top with a wet food. My longer muzzle dogs it doesn't affect but 3 of them are english bulldogs and OMG their whole little faces are just covered in muck afterwards. I do love the results we are getting from this food but clean up is a pain with the bulls feeding this to 5 of my 6 dogs, all have allergies to one thing or another and this food agrees with all 5, we are 3 months in feeding this brand and have great coats, energy levels are perfect, weight great and nice poo's and zero occurrences of allergies BUT this has to be the messiest food i have ever fed !!! Bag of crumbs
By Shawna on Dec 27, 2020
My dog doesn’t love it, but he doesn’t hate it. 25% of the bag is powdery crumbs, so it’s messy and overpriced for what you truly get out of the bag.

Extra Dry Lamb
By AnimalCrew on Sep 4, 2020
My Dogs really not a fan of this brand of dog food ! One thing for sure it is Grain Free Within three days of changing the brand of dog food ,I normally can tell weather is Grain free because my dogs don’t show signs of allergic reactions (Constant scratching as if they had fleas) Canidae need to come with a better Lamb recipe , I was totally disappointed with the first ingredient Lamb Meal which in my opinion is equivalent to Skin/Hide. I’ve really selected a bad choice of dog food this time. Literally My dogs starve their self until the last minute when Hunger really hits , walking around the whole Day Sniffing and smelling But note interested in eating ,until 8pm at night My Dogs really not a fan of this brand of dog food ! In the process of switching to a new food
By TA4Dogs on Aug 9, 2020
I was in the process of switching to a new food so this was on the list to try due to my dog's allergies. I have 60-80# dogs and unfortunately, the kibble size is horribly small to where one of my dogs started throwing up because of eating this food without chewing due to being pea-size kibble. I haven't had this problem with my dog until this Canidae kibble so I switched to yet another food where the kibble size was bigger and the problem went away. If I were Canidae I would reserve this food for XS and SMALL BREED and make bigger kibble for medium to large and XL breeds. I, personally, DO NOT recommend for large and XL breeds because of the tiny kibble size.

Do Not Buy
By John91Lisa on Aug 2, 2020
I bought this after I read a bunch of reviews - Do Not Buy - it made our 50 lb. full grown dog throw up continuously and we had to take her to the ER Vet. Something is in it that is not good for dogs... or at least not for doges with a sensitive stomach.
