Love this addition to my dogs raw diet. Easy way to get added benefits of the nutrients in vegetables. Love the additional GARLIC for pest control. Do your research, garlic is recommended for dogs as a natural pest control for fleas. The study referenced in other reviews refers to a study where dogs were force fed over 20 garlic bulbs. Garlic in small amounts is beneficial and completely safe.

I liked the idea of this dehydrated vegetable blend as a topper for my dogs' food only to realize that one of the ingredients is dehydrated garlic. Why would anyone put garlic I'm a product for dogs?? Garlic is toxic to dogs in any form. Do not order for your dogs. And you should probably thoroughly check this company's other products before purchasing. Shady business.

It is convenient but I started cooking them to help my dog digest them as his stomach got a little grumbly otherwise. I also add fresh cooked carrots, sweet potatoes, and broccoli stems to his food as well, so I’m not sure if I will continue to add the dehydrated vegetables, it might not be as good a value as fresh. Prices have skyrocketed and so I will see how much one bag lasts.

This has GARLIC IN IT and garlic KILLS DOGS MY DOGS HAIR IS FALLING OUT NOW

Garlic and Dogs: Why It’s Dangerous Garlic and all plants in the Allium family including onions, leeks, chives, and shallots contains compounds called thiosulfates

Garlic and Dogs: Why It’s Dangerous Garlic and all plants in the Allium family including onions, leeks, chives, and shallots contains compounds called thiosulfates and disulfides. Dogs can’t metabolize these safely. When eaten in sufficient amounts, these compounds can damage red blood cells, leading to a condition called hemolytic anemia. Even small amounts over time can cause oxidative stress in the blood and other tissues , it’s not just about one large dose. Hair Loss and Garlic Exposure Garlic doesn’t directly cause hair to fall out, but here’s how it can contribute indirectly Toxic reaction or anemia: When garlic damages red blood cells, your dog’s body becomes low in oxygen ,anemia. This can result in poor coat quality, dull fur, or thinning hair. Skin irritation or allergic response: Some dogs are sensitive or allergic to garlic or other ingredients in the same product which can cause itching, redness, and localized hair loss. Nutrient depletion: Chronic exposure to low doses of garlic can strain the liver and affect how nutrients ,like zinc or biotin are processed nutrients essential for coat health. So, while garlic isn’t typically listed as a cause of hair loss by itself, it can absolutely lead to secondary coat problems due to underlying toxicity or organ stress.

This is an amazing food topper and it has made a big difference in my dogs health. It's dehydrated so I mix 1 cup of the dry mix with 2 cups of warm water. Stir it to combine and put it in an enclosed container in the refrigerator. I stir it in the morning and add a few spoonfuls to my dogs food. I only give it to my dog in the am and add organics wet at his dinner feeding.

Easy, Affordable Addition to Homemade Treats!

I add this mix into the frozen treats I make for my dog! He’s a fan of the taste and I’m a fan because it’s a healthy addition that is a great price per serving

I add this mix into the frozen treats I make for my dog! He’s a fan of the taste and I’m a fan because it’s a healthy addition that is a great price per serving for this use. I was pleased to find this option, especially compared to human dried products that are much more expensive per ounce and often include ingredients that are unsafe for dogs. Be careful not to spill after wet- the lovely purple sweet potato dyes any liquid it touches! So far this hasn’t left a stain on any silicone feeders. I’m looking forward to trying other Canine Caviar products treats/toppers in the future. NOTE: Foods with Kelp or seaweed can be high in iodine, which can affect thyroid hormone levels. It’s best to ask your vet before using in older pets with thyroid conditions.

The dogs absolutely love the veggies. Looks and smells good. Also, makes them poop regularly, their coat looks good. And helps with keeping weight in check. My 3 seniors have been on it over 2 years now, and I notice they have more energy and able to jump up on furniture again.

I purchased this to supplement my dogs kibble. I didn’t look super closely at the ingredients before I purchased it. Once I got delivered, I was telling my husband about it and read the ingredients to him. The last ingredient is garlic. Garlic is toxic to dogs in large amounts. In small amounts it can cause upset stomach and other digestive issues. I don’t understand why the makers of this brand are putting an ingredient in there that will hurt dogs. I contacted Chewy about my concern. They were easy to work with to help me resolve the issue.
