What is the 20" measurement on this gate? We have standard sized 32-36" doors and need to keep our English Bully puppy contained in "his" room. Thanks!

This gate is 20 inches tall and expands from 40-70 inches wide.

What size is the gap on either side of the gate?

The wood would be roughly 2 to 2.5 inches from the wall if the gate's feet are placed against the baseboards. Placing it at a corner can make that gap smaller or larger.

Would the 20" height be sufficient to contain an adult basset hound, or would I need the 28" hight?

The 20 inch should suffice unless your dog has a jumping habit.

Can you combine 2 of this to make a wider fence ?

Two of these gates may be placed side by side but they would leave a 6 inch gap in between them as there's a gap of about 3 inches on each side.

Not for tile floors

We have new puppies. Our floors are tile and when the puppies lean on this gate it slides and then the escape. We had to put something behind it to avoid it from

We have new puppies. Our floors are tile and when the puppies lean on this gate it slides and then the escape. We had to put something behind it to avoid it from sliding & we added pool noodles on the sides so they can’t get their heads through the side of the gate. We also put a rubber carpet mat under the gate to help it from sliding also. While the on line photo show it the be on carpet & a wood floor it doesn’t state that to secure it from sliding you need only to use it in a door frame so as to insure it won’t slide by placing the black foot against the floor board. It doesn’t work it it’s for areas like hallways.

Sturdy and Well Designed

The gate was used to separate our cats and dog after a big move. They needed time to adjust in a new home. The gate was well put together and it looks great too!

The directions for assembly were easy to follow. It does it's job keeping our dachshund away from the cats, but gives us the ability to step right over the gate. It's great and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from this company again.

Perfect for my needs

My 14 year old cat has started having accidents and several have been in my work from home space. I needed something that would keep her out, but allow my other

My 14 year old cat has started having accidents and several have been in my work from home space. I needed something that would keep her out, but allow my other cats in and also provide easy access to the door to the back yard for our dogs. This absolutely did the trick! It easily slides open (or you can lock the width in place) to let the dogs in and out the back door, we can easily step over it, and the other cats just hop over it. But Sunny cannot get into the space. Note that I do not have it secured to the wall so it is very easy to move - dogs could easily push it out of the way but luckily don't.
