Carlson Pet Products Design Studio Freestanding Extra Wide Pet Gate

This gate lasted about 6 months and then completely fell apart. The wood frame and the metal gate would constantly become detached and the entire thing just wouldn’t hold together. I’d expect something that costs almost $90 should last much longer. This shouldn’t have to be a product I purchase twice a year.

I looked all over to find this type of gate for my two dogs. I have two similar I ones purchased five years ago when our Aussie was a puppy. We needed them now to confine our older very small terrier mix because he is now deaf, blind and incontinent. We also needed it to be short enough for our now grown Aussie to jump over when he is tired of hanging out with his old pal. Another requirement was gates that did not have to be installed and no hardware required. These are extremely nice but more time consuming to put together than our older ones. Also, they have plastic feet rather than the wooden "feet" on our older model. Other than that, they do the trick and little Charlie is safe and I looked all over to find this type of gate for my two dogs. I've had this gate for nearly a year, and it's still doing its job. It's not spectacular; in fact, I'm not sure it's technically a "gate." However, it has succeeded in keeping my Labrador and Chug out of the dining room. My only complaint would be that it's a little unwieldy to assemble and adjust, but if you're just looking for a reliable, attractive, no-nonsense barrier, this is a good choice.

Horrible poorly built. Don t buy this product. Falls apart and you have to practically build it back with glue and some nails perhaps. A disgrace that chewy does not vet this products first before offering them for sale. It seems like a first grader put the gate together as a weekend project!

I purchased this gate to keep dogs out of the kitchen. It was way to big for what I wanted. I called Chewy to get RMA and rep said would credit my account and I could donate the gate, which I did donate to Meals on Wheels Central Texas PALS Program.

This is a great looking gate. Lightweight but sturdy. Very attractive, does not look cheaply made at all. Nice addition to our home.

Very happy with the new gate. Gate was very easy to assemble. Quality is very good. May purchase another gate for the front porch.

This gate is furniture quality! Easy to assemble (leg supports only) and a quick and easy snap of the four adjustable locks keeps your chosen width securely in place. Grid is coated and sturdy. Wood is nicely finished. I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase. Excellent packaging, arrived perfectly. Purchased after my recently blind Schnauzer tumbled down basement stairs. So much more attractive than a plastic gate!

It’s a very cute gate but unfortunately it didn't my 13 week 24lb puppy from getting out. I’m a registered nurse and I work night shift, therefore I felt bad crating my puppy for a prolonged period of time. So I tried keeping him in the laundry room and used this gate to block him in. The first time he stayed, the second time he got out, then the first time I even tried putting a 20lb weight in front of it and he still got out.

This gate is sturdy and heavy. It stands without any tension or connection to a wall or solid surface. I have a galley kitchen and the feet on each end fits snugly in the toe kick area on the cabinets on both sides. Perfect for my golden puppy! And it arrived in just a few days.
