My opening is about 75 inches. Can this gate be sized to fit that space with the extensions?

The large expands from 50-59 inches and the extension is 24 inches so this will be fine for your opening.

what is the width of the actual walk through opening?

The width of the walk-through gate opening is 17 inches. The walk-through design also features a 10 x 7 inch pet door letting small animals pass through while everyone else stays put.

Can this fit a 78-79 inch opening?

This gate has an ability to expand from 34.5-37.5 inches and can also fit extra large openings between 51-59 inches wide.

Does this swing open or have walk through gate? Is it easy to detach from one part of the wall and close back? I have approximately 58.5 to 59" gap for the kitchen I am going to block for puppies, my grandma would still like to get to kitchen without falling over something.

This pet gate works perfect for the area between my living room and hallway. The cats can access their areas while the dogs can stay in the main area. Fairly well-built

This pet gate works perfect for the area between my living room and hallway. The cats can access their areas while the dogs can stay in the main area. Fairly well-built gate. I recommend using plastic screw "covers" (technical name unknown) to help strengthen screwing the gate screws into painted sheetrock/drywalls.

Total waste of money, and it’s flimsy to boot. * I had to spell this out because apparently the s word is banned

However there's a hug problem, adjust the gate doesn't adjust the 2nd gates length which also means there's a piece hanging in the door entry. It's not upside down I checked. I'm going to have to saw the piece off

Carlson Maxi Pet Gate

If you have the old style pet gate you will find the Carlson is not an exact fit. I do not like the walk thru as well, not as wide and do not think the small gate

This gate was the perfect fit for our awkward sized doorway and soooo easy to install. My only complaint is the screw heads snapped off two screws when I was installing
