Beware of formula change

My cats had been eating this food for 4 years.. then Weruva purchased Cat Person. Within a few months, my then 8 year old cat started licking herself bald on the

My cats had been eating this food for 4 years.. then Weruva purchased Cat Person. Within a few months, my then 8 year old cat started licking herself bald on the tail, stomach and around her ears. Initially I thought it was stress but the wounds on her face got so bad it prompted me to look into other factors. I realized that while it was advertised there would be no changes to the formula, that didn't necessarily mean sourcing would remain the same. I switched my cats to another food 2 months ago and all of her excessive grooming has stopped and her fur has grown back entirely.

My cat has been eating this food for quite some time now after developing a severe fish allergy at 15 years old. It was so challenging finding a cat food without fish or fish oil that she actually enjoyed. They have now added fish oil. I’m not sure why companies change formulas and add allergens. Thankfully, I noticed this change on Chewy’s website before ordering again. Not worth an allergic reaction. So incredibly frustrating.

Formula Change = No More Eating This

As soon as it was announced that Weruva bought Cat Person, I knew they would change the formula. They don’t wast any time in doing so either. Our cat used to go

As soon as it was announced that Weruva bought Cat Person, I knew they would change the formula. They don’t wast any time in doing so either. Our cat used to go crazy over the original formula and now he just sniffs and walks away. He did taste it the first time, but that was the only time he got this kibble into his mouth. He does not like the new formula at all, which is so frustrating. We have such a difficult time finding kibble that isn’t total junk food for our picky eater. Now we are back to buying expensive bags of food that get thrown away or donated. :(

My 21yo kitty absolutely loves Cat Person Chicken & Turkey Grain-Free Dry Cat Food. It’s surprisingly wonderful that he loves this formulation as much today as he did the first time he tasted it a few years ago. He still goes at it with a zest, especially when I’m opening a new bag. He has declined his wet cat foods (I’ve tried them all to get him to eat)at intervals including prescription brands, but he never ignores his Cat Person food, and for that, I’m thankful.
