Cat's Pride Antibacterial Lightweight Clumping Cat Litter, 12-lb jug

I really liked this litter. I got two of the jug ones first and this time I got the 18 pound bag. Well it came with a tear in it and some of the litter poured out. So I wasn’t happy about that. I tried to save money by getting the bag, and now I can’t use the bag, and I have to find a bucket or something to put it in.

My girl, Phoebe, tends to pee a small lake and does not like to cover it up. I like that it sort of suspends the pee and makes it easy to lift it off the top. With other litters it goes to the bottom and makes wet clumps that stick to everything and half the litter in the box gets thrown out. This litter makes clean-up so much easier and is so much lighter for this lady with a bad back!

I've been testing a bunch of different litters because I'm no longer using Tidy Cats Lightweight due to excessive dust. This litter is a very fine consistency, almost like sand, which I kind of like. It does have some dust, but not as much as the Tidy Cats. It's important for me that the litter is lightweight, and although this is, it's 36% heavier than Tidy Cats lightweight (it's a mathematical formula), so a little heavier than I'd like for a lightweight litter, but not a dealbreaker. It's all one color, which makes waste easy to find. In fact, urine turns almost black, which I've never seen litter do before, but it's great! Unfortunately, with all the good qualities this litter has, I probably won't use it because it doesn't clump well. The clumps fall apart and then I have to scrape and take time to sift out all the little dirty pieces it leaves behind. So it ends up taking me three times as long to clean one litter box.
