I have had this for over 5 years and have recently only had a problem with the handle coming loose. I beat it back in place and no other problems. My shepherd's all love this brush. I have used this on wet and dry coats. The CHI pulls off the undercoat while not being to harsh. I have used this on long and medium coats. People have commented on how beautiful my shepherd's look when we go on vacation. In the past i purchased a furminator but it broke which i was not happy about considering the cost.
Amazing brush
I have a 1yo Chow Chow and this brush is heccin amazing! I brushed him for 2 hours and it worked great for deshedding and getting all his knots untangle. It’s durable too, the handle is metal. I def recommend this brush for long hair dogs.
Poor Quality
This product broke within the first time of using it. The grooming portion separated from the handle within the first 5 minutes of using it.
Great brush for huskies!
This is an awesome brush for huskies thick undercoat! Definitely recommend!
Grooming my Lab
It very easy to handle My Lab sometimes enjoys being brushed with it
Does NOT work for all dogs
I read through many reviews to find this brush hoping to find THE one. My dog is part boxer and her fur is very smooth. This brush does nothing at all on her fur. Also the blade on the other side is useless. I need to find out if I can return it!
Matted fur
Works great for long haired cats and my shedding dogs.
Great tool
I bought this a couple years ago and I still love it. My terrier/Aussie Cattle dog mix has a VERY fluffy undercoat. It requires daily brushing and bi-weekly deshedding. I like to use this CHI rake throughout the week after she’s had either a day at doggy daycare or some rigorous activity. The rake side is great for lightly removing that super fluffy undercoat. I use the blade side as a finishing tool to remove loose surface hair.
Was disappointed
Purchased this grooming rake because our Pomeranian has very think hair and tends to matt badly against his body. I had purchased a grooming tool years ago that had the razor blade with the rake and it worked wonderfully. I was hoping this was like that one. Unfortunately, it wasn't anything like the one we had. The blade on this brush is actually dull and doesn't thin our Pomeranians hair at all like it says it will in the advertising. It's basically just a plain ole rack with a heavy price tag. Keep your money!
Great brush!
Bought this for my german shepherd and lab mix dog. He enjoys a good brushing and this brush seems to be his favorite so far. When I brush him it looks like we took a whole other dog off of him. The "bristles" are not too sharp or pointy. Definitely recommend for dogs that have a bit longer hair.
