How long does shield last? How often do you have to replace shield in order to keep the door unharmed?

How does this apply? Is it an all over adhesive or is it small circular dot adhesives?

This scratch guard attaches with double-sided, square, clear fasteners to be applied in the corners of the scratch shield. The fasteners hold the shield in place and protect surfaces from the most sharpest nails and persistent dog and cat scratching and clawing.

Can you remove the shield without damaging the door?

The manufacturer has partnered with 3M to provide high quality fasteners with a strong removable adhesive. The fasteners have a strong hold, but can be removed from your surface without damage. With that said, different paints and stains are made using different synthetics and may peel paint or stain when removed. Therefore, we recommend testing our fasteners in a safe and inconspicuous spot on the desired area and test for several days before applying fasteners to a broader area.

This is plexiglass - how am I supposed to cut it?

Since the shields are made from high-quality PET, you will need to use a jig saw, table saw, router or scoring tool. Choose a blade that has many teeth. Always wear safety glasses to protect your eyes and always cut in a well-ventilated area.

Door protection from scratches

I was temporarily staying with a friend so I had to keep my cat in the room I was staying in. Everytime I left the room she would scratch at the door until I came

Works well!

It wasn’t as easy to cut as advertised but once I got it to size it was very easy to put up and has completely stopped my cat from trying to climb the blinds.

Different than advertised

As plexiglass, an alternative to glass, I would give 5 stars. Sturdy, thick. As a plastic sheet to protect a door, hmmmm. It doesn't stick. Ir didn't come with any

As plexiglass, an alternative to glass, I would give 5 stars. Sturdy, thick. As a plastic sheet to protect a door, hmmmm. It doesn't stick. Ir didn't come with any stickers. I used double sided mounting tape. It is very difficult to cut. The ad shows scissors. I used a carpet blade to score and then had to snap in half. It is too thick for this purpose.

The size was perfect

Just had the house painted including the doors. My exterior door had claw marks in and out. These have saved the paint. There great. I highly recommend them.

Good for a couple of years

We got this to use to help protect our picture window. Our girls love to slam on the glass and scratch a the evil lurkers outside. It was easy to cut and put in

We got this to use to help protect our picture window. Our girls love to slam on the glass and scratch a the evil lurkers outside. It was easy to cut and put in place. We've had it almost 2 years and now it's actually melting and cracking... which is weird because I found this when looking up whether plexiglass would melt in the sun or not "Acrylic softens at temperatures around 160F to 210F (71C to 99C) and will not melt until it reaches approximately 320F (160C). Normal sunlight, even on the hottest days, does not reach these temperatures." This is in a picture window that is over a covered porch, so it doesn't get direct sunlight for 75% of the day. However, it's protecting our window and held up a couple years before melting so I'd say it's pretty good. We'll likely get the same thing again to replace our melting one.

Lifesaver!

Protects our door very well, is quite when the kitty goes to town scratching on it, and is very clear so we see perfectly out the windows on the french door.
