Can the bell come off?

The bell on this collar is not designed to be removed however, customers have reported the bell can be removed with a pair of pliers.

Hi, is this collar chrome treated? I would like to know if it’s vegetable tanned and what type of coloring is used. Is it safe for laser engraving?

The collar is not chrome treated. It is vegetable tanned. CollarDirect use natural dye to color it. It is not recommended engraving on the collar directly.

How do you get an ID tag onto this collar?

This collar features a D Ring which can be used to attach tags or other accessories. This collar can also be fully opened to add more accessories.

For the best fit, we recommend measuring your cat's neck girth. The Small collar fits a neck measuring 6 – 7 inches and the Medium collar fits a neck measuring 9 – 11 inches.

We have a cat that break-away collars won’t work, as she breaks out of them. This collar mostly works for her, although it’s too large and we needed to add more

We have a cat that break-away collars won’t work, as she breaks out of them. This collar mostly works for her, although it’s too large and we needed to add more holes for it to fit properly. It’s a well made collar though.

for poppy's first collar I got the same kind but different color (cream/beige)that her sister willow has. as poppy happens to be a tortoise shell calico and difficult to get a collar for. because of her coloring I got this color specifically because instead of standing out and being awkward it actually compliments her coloring and looks part of her fur. it is flexible, very small width (specifically 3/8) and is also a soft leather that slides easy on their body so it does not catch on the fur whatsoever. Poppy really enjoyed having the collar on after a couple hours of course, she's not used to the sound of the bell just yet but all in due time. I got the smaller one to begin with for poppy because her neck is tiny but by the end of October possibly November she should be moving into the next size up. her neck is only four and a half possibly 5 in around so this size is perfect for her.. the vet said she is a tiny kitten for her size (she is the runt of seven kittens and had to be bottled fed because the mother pushed her away) and unless you go through a massive growth but she will always be tiny. thank you chewy for having a beautiful selection of collars both for cats and dogs.

I bought two of these collars for my cats, the orange for yellow/white cat and green for black cat. The colors are vibrant and look great on them. The product looks durable. I like that there is a partial stretchy part in case they get hooked on something so it will come off, although my cats are strictly indoors so won’t be much of a problem. Also, when banding it, where too much sticks out, I put a tiny rubber washer on the collar to hold excess band in place. My cats have no problem wearing these collars. They should be easy to clean too.

Ok collar

The yellow color was more mustardy color than bright yellow and the collar was quite a bit longer than others I’ve bought.

No escaping this collar.

This is a very nice alternative to the useless quick-release collars. It is leather but also has a stretchy section so I don't worry about her choking. It is not

This is a very nice alternative to the useless quick-release collars. It is leather but also has a stretchy section so I don't worry about her choking. It is not very heavy so my kitty is not tipping over, if you know what I mean. I got the orange color and love it - not neon, just basic orange. The leather tab does stick out a bit since kitty is small, but as she grows the collar will be put on a bigger notch and the tab will shrink. Would definitely recommend it and buy it again.

We tried this one and he actually got his little jaw stuck in it, while trying to take it off. Thankfully it happened in front of us. So we went back to the breakaways and he’s better about keeping them on.
