Plug the diffuser into an electric outlet in an upright position with vents facing a ceiling, near where your cat spends the most time. The diffuser uses warmth to fill a room with calming pheromones. The diffuser must always be plugged in upright into a wall outlet and never upside, sideways, or into a power strip/cord. The diffuser features a rotatable plug to ensure an upright placement in any wall outlet and an automatic safety shut-off to prevent overheating. Improper use may cause the diffuser to become discolored, increase order due to vapor residue buildup, and/or cause leaking. Use 1 diffuser per room. Replace refill approximately every 30 days. Replace diffuser unit every 12 months.
I originally got these for my parents elderly cat who was showing signs of cognitive decline. They had moved a year ago & he still wasn't adjusting. He wasn't using the litterbox & was vocalizing like he was lost. After a few months of using the diffusers he started acting like himself & using the litterbox again.
On the Second bottle of cat calming, it does what it says, My cat is not paranoid anymore and is mellow. I would recommend this to others. What I love about it is people can not smell it like other diffusers and its drug free which is a Plus.
My cats have stress-induced cystitis and major fears of loud noises, visitors, and changes in their environment. I have been trying all manner of non-medication treatments to make them feel more confident and safe in their home, and I had high hopes for these plug-ins. First I tried Feliway since my vet recommended it, then I tried this brand since the hormone quantity is double that of Feliway. I also tried putting these in several rooms of my home. I have been using these for about two months now and I can’t really tell a difference. My cats still won’t come out when my family comes to visit, and they hide under the covers in the bed and look terrified if anyone but me attempts to pet them. They seem perhaps a tiny bit more confident with doors opening and loud sounds outside of the house, but they are still on high alert. Additionally, the primary ingredient of these plug-ins is paraffin, which is a petroleum byproduct. I don’t really want to be breathing this in, and I can’t use my air purifier or open the windows while they’re plugged in or else the hormones will also go away. I don’t think this product is not a good fit for my home, and it doesn’t seem to be improving my cats’ lives.
My kitty was abused & then dumped. He is hyper-vigilant and even has to be given tranquilizers to go to the vet. If I forget to put on the new one, I notice his getting jumpy. He also gets nightmares! Poor boy!
Been using for over a month and my cats have been acting the same. I don't think this is doing anything
I have been experimenting with these, where when I would leave for a longer period of time due to business or something, and had to have a cat sitter check in on her, so I would have these to support and ease possible stress. She seemed good them and somewhat curious about them. I also had some out of town guests at least once a month to once every two months stay over for short stays (long weekend or so) and since she is a bottle baby seems to get stressed. I had these for those occasions and now since she is almost a year old, I decided to not refill the diffuser for one visit. I am not sure what it was but she seemed far more anxious/fearful and wanted to hide when not in use. In the past with the diffusers plugged in, she would at least attempt to come out and sniff my guest's (stranger's) fingers or try to socialize although she would cautiously would approach with a little more confidence.... she did not this time and wanted to stay on the shelf in the closet! I will give another try and re-review after part 3 of the trials. Last part, they leave an opaque film or residue on the wall, streaming up from the diffuser, so far it does not damage the paint that I can see, but occasionally need to wipe down the walls if I so desire. I will keep an eye on this detail too as I don't want to ruin my walls LOL.
We recently had some new flooring put in our kitchen. Both Cats got very stressed and one had to go to Vet. I went out and got a couple from Pet store and just ordered two more from Chewy because the Cats are going to have a pet sitter for few days and I want to avoid as much stress as possible. It is truly hard to say if works, there are so many factors involved but it can't hurt!
My male main coon ( neutered) was spraying a few drops on the tile or hardwood floors once or twice a week. I was constantly cleaning this up but since I have plugged in 2 ( one upstairs and one downstairs) he has not sprayed. Seems to be working!!
I see people saying they don't work. Wrong. They do work. I've had as many as 5 cats at one time and mostly male. You sometimes have to try more than one bottle to be truly effective. Don't expect instant results. It can take a little bit of time. Also, don't stop and start. Use consecutively. Plus, like one of the questions, I prefer regular not multi-cat for spraying and other behavior.
I’m a student and recently moved into an apartment with a random roommate who has a dog. My cat was very stressed, hiding from everyone and everything and her fur was falling out in clumps. As a last ditch effort before taking her to the vet I bought this diffuser for my room and it’s turned her around! She’s friendlier than ever, always purring and cuddling, curious about my roommate and her dog and her fur isn’t falling out! I haven’t had any issues with the diffuser and have been using it for about 3 months now.
