How long is this feed stable BEFORE opening the bag? How long stable AFTER opening the bag?
Answer by ChewyJul 17, 2017
If the food is stored in a cool dry place then the feed will last 3-4 months. However, if the food is not stored in a cool dry place and happens to sit in the sun or in the heat (summer in the Southern states such as FL,TX, AL, GA, AZ, CA, etc.) it'll then get then get infested with feed weevils after about 6-8 weeks.

My horse is about 1000 pounds so how many cups of this feed to I need to feed daily?
Answer by ChewyAug 30, 2017
For horses 800-1000 pounds you'll feed 1-2 pounds per day for maintenance, 2-3 pounds per day for light work, and 2-4 pounds per day for performance work. For horses greater than 1000 pounds you'll feed 1-3 pounds per day for maintenance, 2-4 pounds per day per day for light work, and 3-6 pounds per day for performance work.

Can you talk about the low Omega-3 to Omega-6 ratio, is there a reason for the levels being inverted?
Answer by ChewyMay 17, 2018
Crypto Feed is supplemental, meaning that it's designed to be fed in addition to forage and hay products. It is not to be a sole ration. The ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 is 1:10; it's important to consider that hay and especially grass are high in Omega 3. When Crypto considered the inflammatory load of their feed, they considered many factors, and overall it's full of high-quality, anti-inflammatory ingredients.

Feeding Instructions use pounds as the unit to feed. Answers to questions recommend standard measuring cup(s) as the unit. Is 1 pound of this feed equal to 1 cup? Or to ask in another way, how many cups in 1 pound of this feed?
Answer by ChewyJul 16, 2017
This feed will contain approximately 4-5 cups for every pound.

Not worth it

Bag says it weighs 25 pounds yet when I weighed it I only had 12.5 pounds in it. Not only did the feed mill not catch this but Chewy didn’t either so not happy about at all. Makes me wonder what else the feed mill doesn’t catch before sending it out.

we love crypto

We have fed crypto aero for years to our horses. My horses love it and come running in off of green pasture when I call them. They have beautiful, shiny coats,!healthy hooves and full manes and tails. I recommend this to all my horsey friends.

This is a great alternative to the processed feeds

My local feed Mill stopped making their own and went with the huge suppliers, and I wanted something that had more natural ingredients. I don't feed much, only as a way to interact and give meds, but my animals love this feed.

Love this food! My horse can’t get enough of it. Good coat looks fabulous. He is a senior and helps keep good weight up.

Yes but no

Nice product. But no one at company will answer my emails or calls as I have questions about their ingredients. It’s TOO EXPENSIVE!

Seems like a lot of undigested food

Switched over to this after comparing it to my current grain in terms of sugars and etc. While I think it looks absolutely beautiful and yummy; and my horse had no issues switching over to it from a molasses style grain. After fully switching over I am seeing a lot of undigested oats (and I checked to make sure it wasn’t just empty hulls I was seeing) and sunflower seeds that are still whole in her manure. I think that the premise of this feed is great and may use it as a top dressing. However I will be canceling my auto order of this and going back to my old feed.

Great feed, but I wish they were more than 25 lbs!

Our local feed store used to carry Crypto Aero and sold the 40 lb bags rather than 25 lb and the price was not that much higher. I really wish Chewy would carry that size! 25 lbs only lasts 8 days for the horse I feed it to which is tough for my wallet to swallow as we end up paying a premium per pound for less feed. I can pour one of the 25 lb bags into the other. Other than the small size at a premium price, this is a wonderful whole food feed that makes a great base.

don’t waste your money

Waste of money in my opinion it didn’t last long since I fed the recommended amount and didn’t see a difference for the price I would of like maybe a 50lb bag instead of the small bag

Misleading pricing

The price looked slightly better than what I usually pay at the feed store for a 50 lb bag, so I ordered it. The bag that arrived from Chewy was 40 lbs.

Love Crypto Aero Feed

I’ve been feeding it for years. My ponies love it. The bigger bags would be much better for sure. I say for all of us to spread the word so Chewy continues to stock for us. I used to get it delivered to my front gate from a local company but they stopped carrying it and then I found it at Chewy. My horses love it!!
