Uses

Cyclosporine is used to decrease the immune system's response to a transplanted organ, and is also used for arthritis and psoriasis.

Possible Side Effects

Gastrointestinal side effects like vomiting, diarrhea and lack of appetite have been reported. Other less-common side effects may include muscle cramps, muscle weakness and change in hair. Alert your vet if you notice signs, such as facial swelling, difficulty breathing, hives, scratching, vomiting, diarrhea and pale gums, as these may be symptoms of an allergic reaction.

Precautions

Hypertension medications may be required in recipients of kidney, liver and heart transplants treated with Cyclosporine. However, since Cyclosporine may cause high potassium levels, potassium-sparing diuretics should not be used. While calcium inhibitors can be effective agents in treating Cyclosporine-associated hypertension, they can interfere with Cyclosporine.

What results can I expect?

delivery took 1 week?

needed this med for my pup, Chewy almost always delivers within 2/4 days. Imagine my surprise when it took a. full week to get the prescription for Lily. Had to go to the vet to get pills to hold me until order came. Very surprised and disappointed. If Chewy is going to take this long for delivery, it should be noted before the order is placed.

Saved money

I was getting my dogs medicine at the vets office for approximately 73.00. At Chewy it is approximately 39.00. Very happy I found it at Chewy.

Cyclosporine availability!

So glad I was able to order this through Chewy! Difficult to get through Vet and smaller box stores as there appears to be a shortage from the manufacturer. My dog has to have this for his allergies so it would have been a huge issue if there was a break in meds due to unavailability. Thank you Chewy!!

Cyclosporine Capsules

After numerous trips to vets about one of my poms loosing his hair one finally tried this as the final resort and I begin to see a change in my dog within a couple of weeks. It's been over a year now and he has a full coat of fur again. I was told the capsules may make him sick witch they did but I was also told if they were frozen it seemed to help. I tried and he no longer got sick. I wrap the capsule in a small amount of blue delights dog food and call treat time; all the dogs come running and line up for their bite. He is the first so no problem giving him medication now. Hope this helps other moms with their four legged babies.

Does NOT work like Atopica and Chewy does NOT accept returns of unopened boxes

I tried this generic for Atopica and it did not perform at all like the name brand Atopica. This was confirmed by my vet. I purchased two more full boxes of Atopica but failed to cancel an autoship of the Cyclosporine, This is a full unopened and factory sealed box. My biggest disappointment is that Chewy is unable to return, refund, or even offer a discount on future purchases. I like the convivence of Chewy but my overall experience with the online pharmacy is not the same as my vets office. My vet would have accommodated a return or exchange. LIke everything in life, you get what you pay for sometimes.
