A gradual transition to new food will avoid stomach issues, so don't change your dog's dishes all at once. Instead, mix the new food with your dog's old food. Throughout a week, gradually decrease the proportion of old food while increasing the proportion of new food.
This particular flavor ( liver and beef) doesn’t have the pull top lid, get your can opener out. Still like the brand- cost saving
We've finally found a canned food that Sofie absolutely loves. Though its consistency is a tad loose, so far it hasn't been an issue. We've noticed that some of the cans have pull-top rings and some don't, kind of inconvenient. Overall, a great product at a lower cost, I might add.
This sounded like a real treat for my picky eaters, and when I opened the can, it smelled bad enough to entice them....evidently it didn't taste good, they each took two bites and walked away....won't touch it now...wasted my money...again!
First I had several dented cans and upon reading other reviews, this seems to be a problem others have had as well. But the thing that bothers me the most is that this product is called Liver and Beef Recipe. Very misleading considering the very first ingredient listed is chicken. If I had wanted chicken in the food, I would have ordered something that I thought was chicken based. I wanted the beef! Wont get this again. Just hope my dog eats it.
I received three cases of canned food (two cases were another brand). The other brands were in great shape. The daves cans were severely dented. So dented it was tough to get some of the cans open with a can opener. And the dents were on the interior of the packaging. So the cans were obviously dented when they were packaged.
I ordered several trays of Dave's dog food from Chewy. I normally buy them locally but appreciated having them delivered since they are heavy in bulk. In each tray of cans, several of them were severely dented!!! It was upsetting b/c I kept hoping it was an anomaly but tray by tray and can by can there was a dent. Some were smashed in by an inch or more! Not sure why Chewy chose to send those out. I am to the point now where I need to reorder but am seriously considering going to the store instead of using Chewy. Hopefully, I will hear back from them with an assurance that this won't happen again.
My dog likes this. It’s always been a good product. But they recently changed the formula. Now it’s so pasty that it sticks to the plate like glue. They should return to the old recipe so it’s easier to eat
I was quite surprised to find liver and beef *after* chicken and 'water sufficient for processing'. How much liver or beef is really in this food? While I generally like the 'dave's' line of foods, the cheaper cost of the food is showing up in the ingredients -- or lack thereof. Buyer beware!
and my dogs like it. Great nutrition with no fillers or other junk. All good stuff. I mix the food with dry and they eat it up. No issues with gas too!
MY dog loved it. My only thing I wished it had was a pull tab lid instead of using a can opener. But no big deal.
