Not sure why but both of my dogs won't eat this food. I think they are used to salmon and won't eat this chicken based food.
My boy Remy has horrible food allergies. He can't eat just anything, and this really helps his dietary needs out tremendously.
I had such good luck with Dave's Bland Diet for my new rescue I thought I'd try this food for my other dogs. Its not working out. Gas and soft stools, even though I have used less than a 1/4 a cup mixed in with the old food. I will continue to use Instinct Raw Boost for my two senior dogs.
First off, I want to say that I'm sure this a great quality food. That being said, my dog simply won't eat it. It really surprised me because he loves the Dave's wet food. I was slowly adding the new kibble to his old kibble (Victor's) and he ate the wet food off the top and walked away. This dog never walks away from his food bowl unless it's empty! After a couple of days of this, I finally gave in and just gave him his old kibble with the wet on top and he scoffed it down. I guess he likes his Victor's!
I buy all Dave's food, both dry and wet. I used to feed Taste of the Wild but my husky started to not do good on the food anymore so I switched to this food and he is doing much better.
The food appears to contains quality ingredients, and my GSPs like it fine. Bear in mind one of them would eat just about anything that didn't eat him first. I'm disappointed that there isn't more information available about the nutrition expert involved with the formulation.
My dogs love this food and I love the ingredients and my dogs are more energy on this food
I pair this up with Dave’s Farmyard Blend canned for my dog that has elevated kidney levels. She loves the taste and hopefully it will keep her levels in check.
Our dog was very ill and the vet suggested his food was killing him. We tried other types of dog food and he wasn't getting better. My husband met Dave while shopping at his Agawam store. He suggested this food and gave us free samples of wet food. Our pup was better by the next night.
I had never heard of Dave's until I was investigating restricted diet food for one of my cats. I bought the dry and the canned for my dogs, and they like it very much. I have one really old guy, 14 years old, who is sometimes a bit finicky, and he cleans his dish, as do his younger "sisters" who have plenty of energy for walks, ball playing, etc. Glad to have found this!
