The ONLY food i've had luck with!

My sweet girl was diagnosed with kidney failure (she's 14 1/2, 15 lb Maltese mix) almost a year ago. I've tried EVERYTHING that is good for KD and she hates all of it. And that stuff ain't cheap! This is the only kidney friendly food she will eat. And not just once! This will be my second order! I'm SO grateful!

I haven’t been giving this as his full meal. It’s his occasional supplement (it works really well on a lick mat as a substitute for his much loved but not good for him peanut butter) and I’m using it to wrap his medication in, but he just loves it.

He loves it!

My pop had become resistant to eating breakfast. I use this as a major topper and he eats like a champ!

Looks and handles almost like Jello (for lack of a better comparison). Definitely not what I’d consider a “pate” which I assume is a paste of some sort, made from minced of mashed ingredients. Maybe that qualifies it as a pate, but frankly, it’s pretty yucky. I don’t know if this food is appropriate for my dog’s kidney needs, but I figured I’d give it a try since he’s been a real fuss-budget so far & I’ve been willing to try almost anything to get him to comply. All I can say is that the ONLY way he’ll eat it is if it’s combined with some other regular food, which sort of defeats its purpose as a low-protein, low salt, low phosphorus food. Mg pup flatly refuses to eat it by itself, so not buying this again.

Can size

I thought the can size was good for my tiny dog. Lucy would not eat it. We tried 4 different times, even after a walk.

Best Value

I have been feeding this alongside Farmina to help balance the cost of a renal diet and I would highly recommend it.

Not palatable for my dog

He just doesnt like it. Wont eat it unless I put toppers on that he isn't supposed to eat. Defeats tbe purpose of a low phosphorus option

This isn't what I ordered!

I ordered the larger cans. I love Dave's because it's keeping my girl's kidney disease in check for as long as we can.
