Description

Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Ultra Clumping Cat Litter is a unique formulation that combines the heavy non-tracking granules of Precious Cat Classic with a medium grain clay. The result is an excellent clumping litter that prevents moisture from reaching the bottom of the tray, while providing a clump that will not break down. Ultra is perfect for multi-cat families and those cat owners with sifting or mechanical litter boxes. Like Classic, it has superior odor control.

Key Benefits

  • 99.9% dust free, hypo-allergenic natural litter
  • Contains no plant proteins
  • Hard clumping, medium grain clay
  • Multi-cat formula, superior odor control
  • Ideal for sifting/mechanical litter boxes

Cautions

Always wash your hands thoroughly after waste removal. A parasite sometimes found in cat feces can cause toxoplasmosis. Please do not flush cat litter in toilets or dispose of it outdoors in gutters or storm drains.

Special Note

Some products are changing from bags to boxes. You may receive either packaging until the transition is complete, but rest assured that you are receiving the same great litter!

He's been practicing as a feline-only veterinarian for over 35 years, and he found that non-use of the litter box was the main reason cats were mistreated or abandoned. Starting with Cat Attract litter, Dr. Elsey set out to change the outcome of many cats' fate and help them and their owners live happier, healthier lives together.

I don't like giving bad reviews but I do not recommend this product. I was happy with the box store brand which clumps well, is not dusty, comes in a manageable handled bottle and is inexpensive. However the store is always out, so I decided to try Dr. Elsey (white bag by the way) based on the good reviews. After using it for a week, I'm now among those who give a thumbs down. The urine passes right through the litter and becomes a gluey mess on the bottom of the box which is almost impossible to scrape out. I've gouged the litter box beyond any effort to scrub it clean and came close to breaking the scoop. I decided to donate the almost full bag to the local shelter but that seems like a dastardly I don't like giving bad reviews but I do not recommend this product. • Great Litter!

I originally got this brand because the store was out of my more expensive usual brand, Arm and Hammer Clump and Seal. I filled her 2nd box, less used box with this in the hopes she would not rebel against the unfamiliar. Instead, she preferred this litter. She would walk past her other box to use this is litter and completely stopped using the other box at all. The clumps are also much more solid and do mot even occasionally crumble, as the did with the other brand. I scoop twice a day and always had to watch to be sure I gave the previous litter time to clump. That is not an issue with Precious Cat. I can scoop immediately after she walks out of the box and it is clumped and solid. • Good, unscented, clumping clay litter

    By on

This is a good, though not the cheapest, option for an unscented, clay clumping litter. Like most litters, it seems, it claims to be 99.9% dust free. I'm always surprised at the amount of dust in all the "dust free" litters I've tried. This litter forms good clumps that are fairly resistant to breaking up. It does a reasonable job of addressing litterbox odor. The litter works best, both for clumpability and odor control, if it is scooped at least once a day. My cats all prefer this to any brand of perfumed litter. They also seem to prefer the relatively fine texture of the litter grains. Other cats may disagree.

  • My cats like it & that's what matters!

One of my three cats decided they didn't like the ground corncob litter I was using and started peeing on my bed. In the middle of the night, no less. I bought several types of litter from a local pet store to try and figure out which one they would all like. I also tried adding more litter boxes in varying sizes. Of the litter, Dr. Elsey's was paws-down the winner. As other users have stated, you do need the deep 3" - 4" of litter to maintain good clumping. If it gets low and you're scraping it off the bottom you need to add more and keep it maintained at that depth. The only thing I don't like about this litter is it doesn't cover odors quite as well as others I've used but none One of my three cats decided they didn't like the ground corncob litter I was using and started peeing on my bed. • almost dustless!

    By on

I found this in researching a lower dust cat litter and this had high marks. I decided to try it and it lives up to the expectations. I am finding little to no dust after a few weeks of using it. My only comment is that it is very heavy. After using lightweight litters for a few years, I was used to (and liked) the lower weight of the lightweight litter. However, the tradeoff is worth it and I will get used to heavier litter in return for a dustfree litter area! This clumps really hard and is easy to scoop despite the weight. Cats made the transition easily and I like the unscented version.

  • Precious cat ULTRA cat litter

    By on

The picture here is not the item I bought - I bought Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat ULTRA clumping litter. Love it and no more foot prints all over the wood floors. I 'was' buying the 20 pound square boxes in the retail stores here locally but they are so bulky and hard to handle. Can't find the 18 lb bags so decided to try ordering and that works just perfect. The FEDEX driver said next time he will ring the bell and will wait for me to open the garage and he will put them in there for me. Can't beat that 'and' the order was here really fast. Thanks Chewy

  • Instant fix!

    By on

I was using tidy cats 24/7 performance litter and it was awful, the urine absorbed but didn't clump so it just kept accumulating as wet sand so the whole apartment smelled like ammonia. I only have two cats that I foster. Not wanting to cycle through every litter on the market I heavily researched it and this one was the best rated, especially for urine clumping. It works fantastic! No scent to the litter, no hint of ammonia or other bad smells, I can even use half the amount of litter in the box. Sometimes the urine stick to the bottom of the box but I can scrape it off and it still stays clumped! Never change the formula it's perfect!!

  • My cats love this litter

    By on

For almost two years I have been attempting to resolve my male Bengal cats Sammy and Miles (neutered brothers from the same litter) peeing on the carpet. Although I have four litter boxes located away from their food they occasionally preferred the carpet. I had tried several different types of litter and made certain the litter boxes were clean. Finally it appears the problem has been resolved by using this product along with Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat Ultra Litter Attractant Additive.

  • Love Chewy's and Dr Elsey's

    By on

I have a three year old kitty, and a sixteen year old kitty. The three year old is a rescue and is really rough on the indoor litter box. The sixteen year old has mobility problems that make litter box time a challenge. They like the Dr. Elsey's, as it is pleasant to use and has no offensive odor, Jett quit being so rough, and it is gentle on Bandit's joints. I LOVE Chewy, for the good price on Dr Elsey's, and for the extraordinary customer service!

  • Deceptively inexpensive

Like many people, I work 8-5 and won't be home for deliveries. I was happy when I saw this for about the same price as Amazon and thought I'd give it a try given that with Amazon I had to drag it from the nearest USPS. This is no better. I either drag it from the nearest Fedex location, which is even further away or I pay an extra $5 to have them ship it during the weekend - $10 if I want to choose a time and not be stuck at home all day.
