Transitioning to Dr Pol's is recommended over an 8 day period. Start by feeding 75% of their old food and 25% of Dr. Pol's. Every other day, increase their portion of Dr. Pols by 25%, while decreasing their old food by the same percentation until 100% of their meal consists of their new food.
Short of "homemade" this is one of the best food I have used in the last 40 years! I do both Giant Breed rescue as well as own some small terriers as well, this food I am able to use with ALL my breeds and ages with no tummy upset. Best of all, ALL my dogs love it.
So far so good. I have tried so many types of kibble and Dr. Pol's seems to be more appetizing to my picky eaters without loose stools.
I have owned dogs for 30 years .Never given a review on dog food.My dog is finicky.I had to bribe her with cookies to eat her previous food .I gave her the new food and she goobled it up I can't believe it.Thank you
I was feeding Solid Gold Bison formula. The price went up too much. Being on a fixed income, but still making it a priority to feed my big boy Great Dane quality food I was happy to see that you carry a more reasonably priced quality food. My Janus loves it. Also, as he matures this product is better helping to maintain his weight. I love Chewy.
We were really excited to see Dr. Pol's dog food because the ingredients were what we are looking for. Unfortunately, this bag was not fresh and our dog would not eat it. Hopefully, they have fresh to send out.
I purchased this dog food the first because I wanted my dogs to eat healthy food. I have continued to buy it because my dogs love the taste, it does not have any harmful ingredients or byproducts
I have two huskies, one with a sensitive stomach and the other one is still a puppy. This food is great for both of their needs. My oldest is a picky eater, hardly could get her too eat food, but they both love the taste.
I watch Dr. Pol all the time and was so happy to find that he had a line of pet food. Good ingredients, great price, and best of all my 2 dogs love it. I also love that they give measurements in grams. Makes it so much easier to measure out my dogs' food. I have a Lab and Cane Corso and both are doing great on this food. Good coat, no gas, and plenty of energy.
I purchased this product with autoship, and had it sent to my mother's house for our dogs. My mother noted right away when she opened the bag that it had an odd smell but she gave it to our dogs anyways, we chalked it up to that it was a brand new food to us so it smelled different than our other foods we have bought. Within a few days, my small dog started turning his nose to the food and refused to eat it. My bigger dog however, ate it and had horrible diarrhea and vomiting; so much so we took him to our vet and had to be treated for dehydration. She suggested reintroducing his old foods little by little, and since then- no issues. We tried placing it down for our guys to try again, only to be sickened that the food definitely had gone rancid within the span of a little over a week of opening the bag of food. We never thought to check the expiration date of the bag so we have no way of knowing if it was old, but it made our dog sick and that was enough proof something wasn't right about the product or that Chewy doesn't do quality assurance on its products it sends to its customers.
Good food balance dog is remaining consistent weight. Only complaint is size of kibble (too small).
