Highly Active, Athletic Adult Dogs Food requirements will vary depending on breed, environment, temperature, and stress factors. Highly active, athletic dogs will require an additional amount of food depending on their level of activity. Food intake should be adjusted to maintain optimum body weight.
Puppies- Dr. Pol's Adult Dog 25-12% Chicken Formula may be fed to puppies at approximately four weeks of age. Introduce dry dog food to puppies by moistening with water. It is recommended that puppies be fed at least three times per day. Adjust feeding amounts according to the guideline below.
Gestating/Lactating Females- may require additional amounts of food to maintain desired body condition. Adjust feeding rate accordingly.
Provide clean, fresh water at all times.
I have 5 pitties who absolutely love salmon and I recommend it to any owner who has pups with sensitive skin and allergies. I decided to switch them over to Dr. Pol’s Grain Free Salmon Recipe being that Blue Wilderness Grain Free Salmon has a “new” formula. They became pricier, and added “whole” grains and lots of preservatives to the new formula. Which is not something I would feed my fur babies. I introduced Dr. Pol’s to them this morning and they loved it! Hopefully, they continue to love it as much as they loved the Blue Wilderness grain free salmon recipe.
Before I purchased I read many of the reviews The were several that said the food smelt. I didn't find that to be the case and our labradoodle ate it right away. After two weeks we noticed he hesitated and procrastinated in eating. After a month our dog SMELLS. Nothing else has changed so we can only assume this is coming from the food. We have to disguse it in something now so we have dicontinued it.
I decided to try Dr. Pol's dog food since I have watched him on TV for several years and have really enjoyed it. It certainly seems that he cars for animal - large and small - so I decided to try his food. Both of my finicky about their food and they both seem to love it!
This food is wonderful! I was using a Purina product and thought the dogs coats needed improvement. I started with 50/50 mix with Purina and Dr. Pol to help dogs acclimate to the new food. Now when I go into the backyard to pick up dog poo I have a hard time finding the "piles" because they is so much smaller. My dogs now assimilate their food so much more.....and they are still on the 50/50 mix! an't wait to see what happens when they are 100% on Dr. Pol's food.
Everyone talked about the smell.......ya its stinky food but my dog Rosie loves it. Shes allergic to most foods, hoping this one is different and helps her allergies. Too early to tell. I think they should improve the packaging so you dont smell it outside of the bag. Dog likes it, thats what counts.
My 13 year old mixed breed rescue had suddenly stopped eating his dry kibble. After reading about the benefits of salmon and dogs diet I wanted to try it. Was a little hesitant to try this product seeing some of the comments about the smell. As soon as I open the bag, both of my dogs eagerly ate it and have been enjoying it since. Definitely going to be a auto ship.
It's got quality in ingredients I look for. Rocco love's it with warmed water to soften it for him. Rocco would like to try another flavor maybe next time.
Took a minute for our dog to adjust to the food but has now done so within about 2 weeks of the switch. This food has quality ingredients and a good price and size for the bag compared to local dog stores self nutrition brands I would highly recommend this product if your looking for good high quality dry dog food.
I tried this due to it being cheaper than my normal brand. Unfortunately, my pugs didn't care for it. They eventually ate it due to no other options & the fact that they've become picky eaters. The limited ingredients were perfect for what I needed, NO CHICKEN anything. I would recommend starting out with this product but not switching, unless it's an upgrade from your current kibble or if you don't have picky eaters.
This is my first order for Dr. Pol's Salmon Food so far my dogs are Eating it in a transition to the Chicken.
