Does this get rid of red slim alge?

This cleaner unclogs and cleans gravel beds and removes gunky and hidden wastes so it will also help with the removal of algae.

I'm about about five bottles of this product and forgot to use it I was wondering how long does it last if it has not been opened?

The shelf-life is 3 to 5 years un-opened and 3 years opened. If expired, it will have a strong pungent odor.

The first time I used waste away it worked in three doses. Wiped out what I think was a bad case of Diatoms. This last time I had to treat for 4 doses before I could see any change. This second time I also turned out my lights for 3 days. The combination worked for me. The algae seemed like the same Diatoms but I never tested the algae for confirmation.
