I know some kibble is coated in chicken fat and was wondering if this food is completely poultry free?

This product does not contain poultry.

Seeing that a new formula is now listed I need to know for future ordering. Our Newfy is allergic to all meat by-products i.e. beef, chicken, pork etc. except fish. Does the new formula have any in it?

Both the new and old formulas contain no chicken, beef, or pork by products and uses Herring meal, Salmon meal and Whitefish meal as primary protein sources.

How do they prevent the oil in fish dog food from going rancid ?

The manufacturer adds Mixed Tocopherols to the food to keep it good longer.

It suggests that I feed my dog 2.5 cups per day. How long will a 14lb bag last? How long will the 28lb bag last?

There will be approximately 4 cups per pound of kibble. The 5 pound bag will have close to 20 cups, the 14 pound bag close to 56 cups and the 28 pound bag close to 112 cups. If using 2.5 cups per day the 14 pound bag will last close to 22 days and the 28 pound bag close to 44 days.

Kibble size very small

Made dog sick

Didnt help the skin

I’ve had multiple people tell me how great this dog food is, how oily it is and great for dogs allergies and itchiness. I’m on my second bag and neither came oily

I’ve had multiple people tell me how great this dog food is, how oily it is and great for dogs allergies and itchiness. I’m on my second bag and neither came oily like everyone described, dry like every other food. His itchiness isn’t any better and the second bag he doesnt seem to care for. Gotta suffer through this for the next month til he finishes it and I can get something new.

This review is not about Chewy they’ve been great. But I want to alert other pet parents: if your dog has a bad chicken allergy, be cautious with this food. While the label does not list chicken, I contacted Chewy to ask what “natural flavor” means. The manufacturer told them it could include pork fat or chicken fat. After eating this kibble, my 11 month old dog who is allergic to all forms of chicken developed severe diarrhea and vomiting. If your dog has similar sensitivities, I recommend avoiding this product. Transparency around ingredients like this is critical for dogs with food allergies and I wish they would update their label.
