On days 3 & 4, add in another quarter, so you have half old food, half UNREFINED. On days 5 & 6, mix one quarter old food and 3 quarters UNREFINED. I normally don't write reviews unless something is either really bad or really good. In this case, this food has made all the difference for my two rescues. My Aussie was just generally disinterested in food. She would eat, but grudgingly, and sometimes she'd just walk away from her food bowl. This food completely changed that. She eats with gusto now. I do believe it has something to do with us removing chicken from her diet as well. My other dog had constant yeasty ears that just wouldn't go away, even with prescription treatment. Since he start eating this food, that has disappeared as well. Can't recommend it enough.
Due to food sensitivities on top of having to avoid ingredients high in purine, it has taken me months and 4 different bags of dog food to finally come across one that works for my dalmatian. Every other food has either made his stool really runny or has given him constipation. But on this, his stool is the best it’s ever been since I brought him home. I didn’t only want a dog food relatively low in purines but one that I could feel confident giving my dog knowing that it is high quality. This is has been pretty difficult when choosing kibble. I feel good about the ingredients and where they’re coming from and love that it isn’t too expensive either. I’m so glad I finally found something both me and my dog are happy with!
I’ve spent months looking for the right dog food for my 1 year old dalmatian. It is extremely difficult to find high quality grain-inclusive dog food that is decently priced while also having to avoid a variety of common ingredients due to food sensitivities and looking out for high purine meats and veggies. But this food works perfectly for my dog! It has NO peas, legumes or lentils which are all high in purines. The only vegetable high in purines on the ingredient list is spinach but I like that it isn’t in the top 5 ingredients. Lamb also works out very well both because of lower purine levels and it agrees with my dog’s stomach. He has had either diarrhea or constipation due to all the other foods I’ve tried but his poops are perfect with this! I highly recommend this to any other dalmatian owners who went through the same troubles I did when avoiding high purine level ingredients.
Our White Shepherd had suffered from stomach issues from the time we got him at 11 weeks old (he is now 16 months old). After getting the parasites and worms taken care of and cutting food ingredients suggested by the vet we still had problems off and on. We started talked with a canine nutritionist (never knew there was such a thing!) who recommended trying this along with feeding less more times a day. We are now on our 3rd bag and no more throwing up everyday in over 2 months! No more runny poops either! He's gone from being a lazy boy to having loads of energy and even put on a little weight. We will continue to use this with the great results we have been getting for our boy who such problems with any other kind of food we have tried.
This food agrees with my dog's sensitive stomach, and she likes it, but the last couple of times I've bought it there were a lot of small broken pieces. She won't eat the tiny pieces so it just makes a mess.
My pittie loves this food. He's lost some much needed weight, has more energy, and his coat looks wonderful. Highly recommend this food.
After trying several options, our vet recommended Earthborn Holistic. Plus our daughter had been giving to her doodles. Our doodle loves his food!
This bag seemed to contain a bunch of broken up pieces. Not great for large dogs. I'm going back to the Salmon flavor.
Our boys absolutely loved it. They ate it all up. Didn’t need any topper on their food at all. Loved the flavor. Allergies problems seem to have resolved. Definitely going to try the other flavors too. We are very happy with our decision to go with EARTHBORN Holistic dog food. The only negative aspect is the price, I wish it was a little bit cheaper or they had a coupon
I recently switched my Labrador to Earthborn Unrefined Roasted Lamb with Ancient Grains. She has developed a sensitivity to chicken and the vet recommended a lamb based food. Normally she will eat anything and just about everything but absolutely will not eat this food unless I mix in something else like eggs or riced cauliflower. I thought it was just her missing the chicken and figured she would get used to this food so once we were through the 1st bag I ordered another. This is where I am not feeling good about this food. The food in the first bag was dark brown and the pieces were, what I felt to be, average sized. The 2nd bag...of the identical food, contained pieces that are now smaller and much lighter in color. Now she is pretty much refusing to eat it regardless of what I add to it. I only bought this because Chewy, and every pet store in my area was sold out of the Purina Pro Plan Lamb & Rice but now that Chewy is back in stock we are going to switch. Is there a problem with the food? I don't know but I personally don't care for the inconsistency and the fact that my once voracious eater isn't interested in eating this makes changing to Purina a no-brainer. It won't let me upload a photo but there is a noticeable difference in the food.
