What is it with wool and cats?

I had a co-worker give me some wool balls when we added our 3rd cat to the family and he absolutely loved them. I went looking for more wool toys and found these

I had a co-worker give me some wool balls when we added our 3rd cat to the family and he absolutely loved them. I went looking for more wool toys and found these. To say he's obsessed is an understatement. Our two much older kitties actually play with them from time to time which is a rare thing. I gave them to family members with cats as part of Christmas this year.

Birdie loves her new bed

Birdie's old bed flattened out and wasn't the least bit supportive anymore, just a flat, compressed piece of whatever they used to make a cushion. This new bed is

Birdie's old bed flattened out and wasn't the least bit supportive anymore, just a flat, compressed piece of whatever they used to make a cushion. This new bed is foam that hopefully will continue to offer support and spring back to shape when she isn't lying on it. I wish the foam was at least an inch thicker, but I'm thinking I can always get a separate foam pad to put under it. Birdie loves the bolsters as she always likes to curl up against them. I love that the pad has a waterproof liner just in case of any accidents. Overall we're both quite pleased! Birdie is a 57 lb Lab and I bought the XL.

Seems to be some conflicting reviews, so maybe the product changed over time but not the pics. These are definitely more rat than mouse, and look much bigger than the pics on the product page. Nice wool material, an earthy smell to them. My larger cat, Waffles, loves the rat size, can sink his teeth into it and really play rough with the toy because it is very durable. I can understand why many cats wouldn't like this toy, but for the cat who thinks chasing squirrels is the best time ever, these wool rats will make a nice indoor toy.

These toys aren't exactly what I was expecting. They're more like petrified rats than mice toys. They're big and hard. My cat started chewing the tail immediately
